yes, i believe that people should able to make choices, whether seen as good or bad is subjective and should not be controlled by anyone or anything, either physically or emotionally
Yep. I don't feel people are fated to behave a certain way. A major point of satisfaction in life is knowing that we are partially in control of how it goes.
I believe that some things are meant to happen, but that a huge majority of our lives is free will. I also believe you can be destined for something but your choices can change it.
What kills me is that it's possible that we are meant to believe in free will even if it is a total illusion. Talk about mind games o.0
In some ways, I don't think we have completely free will because we are only given one brain and have certain personalities and neural connections that create some boundaries on what is possible for us to accomplish. The most obvious example, at least to members here, is that we can't control who we are attracted to. However, I do think we have a lot of control over our actions with specific environmental clues.
I don't think we have free will at all. The way I see it, our actions are based on our thoughts, and every thought we have is the result of all the prior thoughts and events throughout our lives that led us to have that most recent thought. Since I can't control what I will think next, I can't control any actions I may perform based off of those thoughts.
No because ultimately we are just computers obeying the laws of physics. However the delusion of free will is as desirable as free will itself. In other words just enjoy yourself.
I believe in free will. I just don't see how anything could predetermine our every move for things to fall into a certain place.
There are always free will. Predetermined fate only seems to be so because we are looking back on it after it already happened.
