Re: mobile website for EC? Don't hold your breath. I don't have a problem with this site on mobile, though. Mobile sites tend to lose some function. What would be nice is a mobile chat room, but people have been asking for that a long time.
Re: mobile website for EC? this is why i wish i would've inserted a pole. It would have been more clear to ask "Should there be a mobile site for EC?" not: does one exist if an admin sees this can he/she place a two answer pole (answers being yay and nay)
There is an option; go onto "quick links," then "edit options." Near the bottom of the page "forum skin" lets you change to a more mobile-friendly version.
I would love a mobile site, as I don't use the computer (so my parents don't find this site) and only my iPod.
I think the website is fine on my mobile devices. I guess i would like to use the chat room but i can live without.
I didn't know there was a mobile skin. I'll try it the next time I'm using EC on my phone. It works okay, but sometimes the keyboard fucks up; it's pretty annoying.
for about the 1000000000th time... (Do a search, there are at least 30 or 40 threads on this topic...) Yes, we know that we need a fully mobile-friendly version of EC. And we know that about 65% of our users use EC on a mobile device. So no poll is needed. Some sort of mobile-friendly version of EC will eventually happen. It, however, won't likely happen until we update the forum software to a current version. It's likely at least 6 months away, perhaps longer. But it is on our radar that it needs to happen.
You beat me to the punch, Chip. But if you look at the bottom, left hand corner of the screen, you can change from the default style to a Mobile style, which makes it easier to use EC on the smaller screen.
