Is your gaydar up and running? How would you tell someone is LGBT or not? Can you even sense it even if someone is not yet aware that they are LGBT??...

I don't have one. A few days ago i forgot my own age and i had to calculate it, so i think it is obvious why i can't detect anyone with the gaydar. Distracted people ftw!

Nope. It's off for repair at the moment. I was using it downtown one day, and I had the gain turned up to max by mistake. This super camp guy walked by me listening to Spice Girls while drinking his Starbucks. Next thing I know *KABOOOOOOOM* it exploded in a puff of rainbow smoke. :frowning2:

Surprisingly it is finely tuned. But school's not in session so it's of no use right now.

There is no such thing, unfortunately. We are all different, beautiful and gay in our own way.

Even though I can read people really easily, for some reason I can not figure out one's sexuality. I sometimes do, after extensive talking, but rarely. All in all, I'd say my gaydar is either missing, either seriously broken. xD

    Lots of love,
    Andy

You don't have to worry. It's still not impossible. if you're hanging out with people you'll eventually see if something happens. Just give it some time.

Gaydar is nothing more than observation/perception.

One such example is people watch the eyes of other people and the brain ticks off the seconds that a persons eyes lingers on one individual, then another. Even closeted guys will let their gaze linger a second longer on dude than on a dudette.

    There are many other 'tells'...

I'm also very good at distinguishing a lie from a truth... again, a person 'signals' so much information in so many various ways, from tone of voice, body language, where they eyes go....

I am pretty perceptive, always have been - it is part of my survival skills... So I can tell a lot about a person just by looking at them a moment. And yes, sometimes I know things about them that they do not know about themselves.

I have the same! But I forget my age a lot!

As for my gaydar, it's almost nonexistent.

No unfortunately mine doesn't work very well. I'm not very good at reading other peoples' body language in general which is a huge hindrance.

Yes, I could tell the woman who was administering the allergy test to me yesterday was a lesbian. I am very good at picking up this kind of stuff. I had a weird epiphany that I feel more more comfortable around lesbians than I do non-affirming straight people. No offense to lesbians, but I always felt awkward around them and others in the LGBT community when I was in the closet. I mean I am not fully out, but I am just about as out as I can be given the huge conservative Christian circle around my family.

    She's talking about this:
    That 3 To 5 Seconds.. - YouTube

ImO a shy girl might look away first and give a few interested glances later...

It might also be interesting just where people look at... at which persons...
