A while for me anyways. But you see with global warming I'm finding it harder and harder to survive in hotter summers and warmer winters. The fish that I eat migratory patterns are whacked, do to this sudden peak in temperature and air pollution is killing off the ones who stay. So please Flick off. If not for me, then for a walrus who loves you. Okay, all joking aside, I've been pretty busy this week meeting all sorts of new people. I'm loving Brock and I'm loving St. Catherines. So far living in the courts has been nothing short of bohemian. People playing acoustic guitar outside their house, and like basically as soon as the sun goes down it's nothing but weed and booze (then later on Campus Security). Actually I'm surprised at how many people actually smoke weed in the res courts (my res is a townhouse style- Like a village). I don't smoke weed, and neither should you, but all I'm trying to paint an image here. And for those worried about me being a drunken idiot during O Week, don't fret. I've decided not to drink till I'm actually 19, Sept 25. So thats 3 weeks of soberity. Go me! Which sucked cause last night Travis (a gay comedian from Toronto) came to the bar last night and everyone at the table I was with was drinking. And this cute guy kept telling me to drink and he was like, "Oh yah your not drinking." And I'm like blaah.. But I don't know if that guy is straight or gay or what. And I'm not going to fret about it. Because if I'm ever going to have a boyfriend he better have enough pride (or at least be out of the closet) to lift me out of this damn RUT I've been in ever since I joined this freakin forum. Well actually ever since me being gay became more of "just a possibility" Speaking of gay, there's a gay camp fire-ish thing...called flamers and flames (I think) tommorow. Being held by the GLBT. I signed my name on their mail list and member registry...and now I'm regretting it! IT's just I really don't want to be associated with the "gay image." I had this talk with these girls and it really as like. "So that's what I'm going to be seen as." I'm really starting to think that god doesn't want me out of the closet. But I was thinking that I've rather everyone get to know straight Phil before they meet gay Phil bceause then maybe they'll see that straight and gay Phil are really the same person. So that if they do find out I'm gay that won't automatically assume that I'm some anal crazed cross dressing flamboyant kinda man. I don't even think I want to try Anal just because how degrading it appparently is to self image. But I have to go. Because I made a promise to myself. 1) Get fit (i've started jogging and found a work out buddy) 2) Be out, and get a boyfriend. So despite what happens. I gotta do what I gotta do. I can't be single forever. Imagine that? If I just never dated. And I just gave up on love altogether? Like I go from Beetles loving, rock loving, love loving kinda guy to like Super goth I don't need anyone. Scary thought eh?

Don't be straight Phil or gay Phil, just be...phil Phil. It's not like high school, where everyone's sort of siphoned off into various 'types' of people, it would be very rude of people to just assume that you're stereotypically gay without actually getting to know you first. The fact that you're gay shouldn't matter, it's what YOU as a person are actually like You only really need to casually mention you're gay if the subject happens to pop up, don't treat it like something that HAS to be discussed with people you meet. And you certainly won't be single forever, you're lovely ^_^ I'm sure everything will go very well for you at St Catherines, it does sound awesome ![]()

I'm just talking about oustide perception of myself. And if it is rude to stereotype it doesn't mean that people do it. And lets face the facts alot of these people are going to be face to face with open homosexuality for the first time. Such as uni and college has been known to be the time to experiment. >_> I worry to much though. I just gotta go with the flow.

If uni and college is the time to experiment, and this'll be some people's first experiences with homosexuality, then that gives off the impression that eventually they'll just get used to it. I honestly don't think uni can be anywhere near as judging as most high schools. At first people might not know what to make of you, but if this is their first experience with a gay person, then you should show them that there's nothing to stereotype, right? Now stop worrying and BE HAPPY. YOU'RE AT UNI ^_^ (my cat just sneezed! Sorry, I just had to add that in, because it was such a cute sneeze)

I'm also glad to hear that you're getting a kick out of residence. That's great. Part of me wishes that I'd gone away to school - but I went to York here in Toronto instead. No regrets really - but there's definitely a different experience to be had by moving away. It's totally natural to be feeling a little out of place. Everyone is - whether they show it or not. And when you add to that the whole 'coming out' thing, it's going to be stressful. But don't sweat it. And don't pretend to be something you're not. You're not a flamer - although the whole 'flamers and flames' thing is a little hokey. Don't let it get to you. There will be other guys there that are like you. And if there aren't, then maybe some of the girls there will know of other gay guys that didn't want to attend the bonfire but are looking for a cute, funny, bright and 'manly' bf! I'm glad that you are pushing yourself to attend these things durning orientation. It will pay off in the long run. Good for you! And good luck with your classes too. You are going to classes, right? Don't hesitate to PM me if you want to chat more. I vaguely remember attending university!

Plus I get to work out some more. Even though after today, I might be a little sore.
