But some people are like that, they probably mean nothing by it but I guess think on some level that the person they are talking to might not like gays.

Yup it's the kind of comment a supposedly "I have no problem with gays" person would make, but actually, they do have a (subconscious?) problem. Yuck.

It's like this guy I met who I told I thought I was gay. He was like, "Oh yeah, I have no problem with gay people. Except, I don't like that gay guy Rick, you know the one? I think his camp attitude is really annoying. I don't like people like that."

I should have said:
Oh, well you know what, I have no problem with straights either. Except there's this one straight whose stupid attitude really irks me, I don't like people like that. Maybe you can guess who?

Its like the first aspect about a person personality is whether they are gay or not. we dont go around saying "you know he's straight but hes ok!!"

I find that most people that have such ignorant opinions are just that, ignorant. You wouldn't call them homophobic but the closest thing they have to 'knowing' a gay guy/girl is the Media, and we all know how BS that is.
