So my sister came out to my mum and I at the age of 25, last week. Which is fine, except I'm a lesbian too, making 100% of my siblings attracted to girls. I've heard of the whole "one twin is always gay" thing, but I've literally never heard of a family having more than one not straight kid. I guess I'm just kind of confused about both of us being gay, I didnt really think it happened! Anyway, I'm curious, is there anyone else here who isnt the only not cis/hetero child in their family?
Over the years I've known at least 5 families where more than one of the children are gay or lesbian. e.g. a lesbian with one gay brother and one straight brother, lesbian with 2 gay brothers, a gay guy with a gay brother, gay twins (where both are gay), but also twins where one is gay and the other is straight. I've also known a family where the father was gay, and he had one gay son and two straight sons. It really varies. Peace! (*hug*)
I was wondering this today cx Hhah I was like looking at my little brothe and I wa like "it's to bad he's not gay because he would've had it so easy" but I love my lil bro no matter what!!! but my aunt and her daughter are lesbians that's pretty awesome so she was very accepting well I think my aunt is BI because she married a guy but idk haha
Well, being gay is not common in the first place. Being a homosexual with a homosexual sibling is incredibly rare. So no, It's not common at all. (!)
The reason I joined this website was to get some insight on how things are for my closeted brother ( I've beenoht twenty years so it's hard for me to remember what it was like). I know quite a few gay men with gay brothers. Two of our national cultural icons s here in New Zealand are lesbian sisters, The Topp Twins, who also have a gay brother
I sort of suspect my little brother. The relation of sexuality between sibling seems based on chance a lot, but one being gay seems to increase the other's chance of having the same or a similar sexuality.
