As recently as a few years ago, LGBTQ people had to suffer in silence and confusion. Even today, many people are unable to find the help that they need. But this site offers an avenue for LGBTQ teens and adults to find support and friendship. In the few weeks since I've joined I've become so much more comfortable with my sexuality and myself. I've been struggling since I was 12 or 13, so the difference this website has made in my life in such a short period of time is truly amazing. I'd just like to say a quick thank you to everyone who has made this site possible. This is a truly special and amazing community and I'm grateful that I get the be a part of it. I love you all (*hug*)
I agree! I love this place so much. I felt like it helped me discover myself by reading what other EC members post and relating to their stories and experiences. It's hard to find yourself when you don't know what's "normal" or "typical." (&&&)
I completely agree :eusa_clap This website has helped me more than I can even describe I love that I get fantastic advice and support from not only the amazing staff, but also all of the lovely members as well. You all have helped me so much on my journey of self acceptance (*hug*) and I've become so much more accepting of myself since I've joined this site. With each day I feel like I'm becoming happier as I gain the courage to be who I am with the help and support of everyone here. Thank you so much everyone! (*hug*)(&&&)(*hug*)
It's always nice to hear when, as a community, we are "hitting the target" for which the community was established. The real thanks go to Bryce, Shannon and John, the three guys who had the vision to start the community in 2004, and then gifted the site and community over to the nonprofit organization formed to take over operations. But our hardworking and all-volunteer staff of some 25 people is responsible for doing all of the heavy lifting that keeps the community safe and welcoming. And of course without the members who post and share their wisdom, the community wouldn't exist. It's truly a community effort in every sense of the word.
I agree, I love EC. It's helped a lot of people's lives and changed a lot of lives For me personally it has made accepting who I am and questioning who I am a much smoother process, and I'm super grateful at the end of the day! (*hug*)
I'm very thankful for this site, too. It has helped me dealt with my sexuality and meet others who are in the same boat as I am. I'm also glad to be part of a community full of amazing people
