Totally stole this idea and flipped it. There are plenty sounds we hate. What about sounds we enjoy?

For me it's thunderstorms, rain, fire, and birdsong. The first one is exciting and the other three are so relaxing I could fall asleep.

Gentle whispering, especially near the ear.

Soft breathing, that sounds relaxed and peaceful.

An operating fan in the distance, especially when going to sleep.

    Kittens meowing.

    Music, I'd say, counts.

    The crackling of a fire.

Some voices from the EC Voices thread.

Falling rain, with maybe some distant thunder in the background. I hate that loud and obnoxious "PAY ATTENTION TO ME, MORTALS!" thunder.

Birdsong and water sounds (except a dripping tap), so things like rainfall onto a pond or a fountain, a gently flowing stream, or the sound of the ocean or incoming tide.

Rain on a tent, only when you're inside nice and dry though!

Rain, the ocean, music (if that counts), baby animal noises, birds, crunching gravel, crackling fires.

Rain, Forrest Sounds, Plant sounds (Yes, plants can make their own music!), leaves moving in the breeze, skateboard wheels rolling on concrete. Do accents count? I love the sound of German accents. So sexy…

Guy moans, the sound of the rain while you're inside your home and enjoying your favourite warm drink, the sound it makes when you step on a dried leaves, the crunchy sound it makes when you eat something really crispy, the traditional Chinese instrument playing in the background of a group of old ladies doing tai chi in the morning and the screams of terror by the children in the basement (kidding).

    Rain and light thunder.

Heavy breathing/panting and soft moaning from men when they're getting freaky. xD

The sound of a rich, dark-toned modern viola. The mellow sound of the Baroque violin. The subdued yet ironically piercing sound of the oboe. The deep, vibrating sounds of a cello's lower register. The boxy, gruff, mellow sound of the viola da gamba. The soft hum of a transverse flute. The echo-y clang of the fortepiano.

Any of my favorite singers singing live and perfectly in tune.

The PlayStation 3/4 "Trophy Unlocked" chime. The music playing during the opening screen of the PSOne.

The keys of B-flat Major, B-Major, and f-minor.

The voices of my late grandmother and my ex-boyfriend. The only two people who can put me at ease with their voice alone.

    Silence.

    Laughter.

The sound of connecting powerful attacks in Tekken games.

    Sizzling frying food.

I love the sound of rain, a babbling brook, tropical Hawaiian type music (hard to describe), and when someone is mowing their lawn. The anticipation of fresh cut grass .

Rain, the kind of sounds you'd hear in a forest, cats purring. Wind. Thunder. Running water.

Sounds of rain hitting a dry ground (and then you get the smell of the earth come out).

That's my fav sound + smell combo in life! (apart from the frying of onions with ginger garlic paste LOL)

Birds chirping, Vivaldi's "Four Seasons," horse's footsteps on stone, the sound of getting my hair cut, my singing in the shower (I can't speak for the neighbors, however), flowing water like in a stream, river or waterfall, ocean waves, rain on tree leaves or on metal, thunder, the sound of running my hand across bedsheets after I've just put them on the bed, the sound of pouring something into a cup or glass, take-off in a plane, train horns in the distance, the squeak/yawn my dog makes when she stretches in the morning when she wakes up, the crackling of a campfire, songs on piano (I could get lost in a piano piece), wind blowing through trees.

Dominant 7th chord, just perfect. (It has to resolve for full enjoyment)

I like the sound of rain, peppers and onions frying together in a pan (the sound of plenty of goodness), that moan men give when they wake up in the morning and stretch their arms, the UPS truck pulling up (meaning there's a good chance another movie to be added to my collection is on it), the sound of a book as you thumb through it real fast like a deck of cards, that hiss when you open a two-liter or bottle of soda, the sound of my enemies scurrying for cover as I call in another airstrike on their compound ... okay, maybe I've said too much.

The sound of birds in the morning, just makes me want to sleep longer though.
