Should us LGBT fear if he gets in as the next president?

Lol. He won't. Ever. He's a nutjob and the nation won't vote in another Texan for a while I don't think. I hate that man with much passion.

He's too incompetent to become president. I won't fear him, nor will anyone who has a pulse.

He is the biggest mistake in politics and in today's demographics he will never win election as president and probably not even a primary unless the Republican party wants to see disaster for for their base in 2016.

What has he said to threaten those in the LGBT community? I am not asking antagonistically. I honestly don't know.

I beg to differ. Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum are worse. Nonetheless, he is pretty terrible, and I hope he's never elected president.

That ass will never get elected nationally. He's a fringe candidate, and Texas is about the only place he'd ever win an election. Hopefully he'll get primaried in 2018 and get sent back to whatever hole he crawled out of.

That is very true. Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum are obsessed with homosexality to the point where it is sickening.

I like his coloring book. You only need one color of crayon! No diversity needed!

I really would have preferred Cruz never got elected. I much preferred Dewhurst.

Anyways, I feel Cruz just wanted to become Senator to become President. I feel he is one of the worst grandstanders.

I wouldn't mind a very moderate Republican who off the bat has an inclusive, rather than divisive, message. The problem with Cruz is that he is going to court the far, far right come campaign time and eventually "broaden his message" by including the far right.

I would rather Cruz be governor of Texas and have to deal with him as my governor, than have him rule over 49 more states .

Actually he is, as his mother was an American. That's why he's eligible to be a Senator. Which is also why it's laughable how all the Teabaggers who say Obama was born in Kenya and ineligible to be President are screaming "Ted Cruz for President!!!!" when even if Obama was born in Kenya, he'd be a citizen based on the same legal logic that Cruz became a US Citizen.

well, the requirement for senator is being a US citizen for 9 years. I'm not up on my constitutional law, but I'm fairly certain Cruz could run for president because he is a natural-born-citizen

Yes it would be bad if Cruz got elected, but he won't. The only serious person the GOP can run at this point is Jeb Bush and I really doubt he'd be able to win a general simply because of his last name.

    very laughable

    ---------- Post added 13th Aug 2014 at 02:45 PM ----------

Look up his information you will see that he was born in Canada and not in America many people don't know this He was born in Calgary Canada . December 22 1970 .
Now I have taken history class and I have been told if you weren't born in this country no matter how long you lived here you can't run for president . This is why Arnold schwarzenegger only ran for governor and he came to the United states as a young child .
And i got this information from history class if you weren't born here you can't run for president no matter how long you lived here .

Yeah, the natural born citizen clause is vague.

This is from the Congressional Research Service as the latest interpretation of what the Natural born citizen clause means when it says natural born citizen.
Cruz was born abroad to a U.S citizen mother and a Cuban immigrant as his father. So he is by the current interpretation a natural born citizen (abroad to US citizen parents), which makes him eligble to run for president if he wanted. Your history class (mine didn't either I took AP US history) doesn't usually get into the picky details of clauses of the Constitution.

Personally, I think naturalized (not US citizen at birth) should be able to run considering they have been a US citizen for X number of years.

The constitutionality of the clause has been questioned (on the basis of the 14th amendment) but the law suits have failed.
