I bought a maroon one from H&M last night. I'm worried they look too teenager-y or douchey. But I love it!

Do you wear them? What do you think?

I mean, I have a snapback that I got from Italy. I think that they were cool when I was possibly 17-18, maybe so now at my age. I just grow irritated when people feel the need to wear those indoors or in a restaurant. It kinda shows a lack of respect, in my honest opinion.

I think it depends on your style, but when someone can pull it off it looks really good.

Just flat out indifferent to them, I don't like wearing hats but don't care if others do.

Totally agree. Unless you're a teenager trying to cover up the fact that you're high in class, hats with a brim indoors are pretty disrespectful.

This is doubly true of hats with stupid graphics or phrases on them... gag.

Buuut I like them for their "flagging" potential.

I don't see how wearing a hat is disrespectful. Holy shit my beanie is causing a disruption. Someone else might wear one too and it'll be total anarchy. Its not like its a funeral or a national anthem and even then who cares? Most customs/traditions are a waste of time and people waste too much energy on them. There are way more important things to worry about.

    Wear your hat. Or don't.

I dunno. I've never worn them, but you see a ton of them on the east coast, on people of all ages. I never associated them with any particular age. I mean, old farmers wear them, baseball fans of all ages wear them...I never thought of them as having a specific age group.

Myself, sometimes I wear a beret, but not as often as I used to.

I actually had to wear a snapback in Italy due to the fact that a. it was blazing hot and sunny out. b. I got a horrid haircut just days before the beginning of our trip, and it was wayyyyy too freaking short, akin to a buzzcut that one receives in the military . Otherwise, there's no valid reason really why you should use them. However, there are always exceptions to the rule :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:.

I don't mind them on the right person. However I could never pull a snap back off. But if you like them then go for it. Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks!

I don't like them; I actually hate them haha. I've always liked the ones with the "normal" brim.

That said, I wouldn't look good in one .

Do what you want. It's whatever you feel most comfortable in.

I had to use Google to find out what a SnapBack was!

No, definately not something I'd consider wearing.

It's more about wearing a brimmed hat indoors, if the brim is covering your eyes. If the hat is backwards it's fine, or if the brim is out of the way. By this logic beanies are fine indoors.

It sounds silly and outdated but when you're somewhere dark and someone is shading their eyes it feels a little like they're hiding something. Unless it's a clubby situation.

I don't know... this is too many rules! But sometimes I'm like "man i can't see your face take off your stupid hat" and it's irrational, but is also a rule a lot of people have.

Me too, I was so confused! I've only ever heard of this style of hat referred to as a "cap" or "baseball cap."

When I was younger I'd wear them for convenience to keep the sun out of my eyes, they aren't really my style now, though.

Snapbacks basically make any girl look like the gayest thing ever. In a good way.

Baseball caps make girls look like they are sporty casual, but generally straight.

That's my oversimplification of the difference between a snapback and a baseball cap. :icon_bigg

I'll add that to my gaydar database :icon_wink . What's the actual difference between snapback and baseball cap? Just the back part that "snaps"?

The snap in the back vs other adjustments; but i think from the front the biggest difference is a flat vs. curved brim. The snapbacks I'm thinking of are generally flat-brimmed.
