So, please help me settle a debate I am having between my friend. I contend that if you attend both the wedding shower and wedding itself, two separate gifts are to be given at two separate times as that is customary. What do you think?
what hexagon said. OP do you mean the party that is organized by the friends to celebrate the couple last night of being single? If is that for what I know the pals put a bunch of money to celebrate the party (including costumes, disco time, etc), so no need for a gift just beign there and celebrate and yes had put your portion of the money for the party before hand.

I've never heard of a wedding shower before either. I've heard of baby showers though. If I had to attend both, I'd give the individual two gifts for each separate occasion. I don't want to come across as cheap and stingy.
