We still have a way to go even with equal marriage but when the big companies get on board it gives hope to the gay thing becoming part of the norm and not the icky/weird thing it still is to some. (Issues with youtube links I think )
Meh, not a fan, a bit naff if you ask me. The whole "you dress too sloppy to be gay" thing is a tiring everyday reality so I find that annoying rather than funny. And whats with the "fashion queen"? Patronizing much? I'm surprised they didn't slip in a "you go, girlfriend!". Plus, I don't get what is supposed to be wrong about his first outfit? He looks better than I ever could and thats "boring" apparently? Must we dress in sequin three piece suits to be deemed interesting enough to be gay? Are we barred from wearing regular wedding clothes? It seems if you don't have the money or a sense of style its fine to be frowned upon. Now I know its only a tongue in cheek advert but it just grates on me thats all. Doesn't tempt me to shop with House of Fraser.
Straight or gay, his first outfit was beyond atrocious. That's what was wrong with it. All of those outfits are currently the in thing anyway. Fashionable for straight or gay men, but I see what you are shooting at.
I love the kiss at the end - so sweet and romantic! I didn't love every part of the ad, but that kiss is probably the best gay kids I've ever seen! Awwwww!
If it doesn't tempt you, then there's a good chance that you are not their target audience. It doesn't tempt me either, and I have never set foot in House of Fraser.
That has got to be one of the most terribly-executed ads I've ever seen. On top of that, that fashion-sense is ghastly! I mean, those shoes with that outfit? Or those shoes in the first place? And that outfit? Even heterosexuals can dress better than that.
Well I'm a gay male with more expendable income than my straight peers who is apparently in desperate need of some new clothes...maybe they should think of targetting me? And I'd presume those fashionable (and brave) enough to wear the sort of outfits in that advert (some of those shirt patterns, wow!) would not be needing advice in the form of this advert, so I'm not sure who is the target audience. Just seems a gay advert for gay advert's sake. Well that shows how much I know about fashion! I like navy and brown together, I thought he looked quite smart! :icon_sad: So is the red velvet jacket with yellow pocket napkin, patterned shirt, pink tie and skinny jeans combo really "fashionable"? I thought that was hideous, like a cross between a clown and ringleader! Or the grey jacket with baggy brown shorts and slippers (without socks - gross) - just looks like something Mr Bean would wear on his holidays! I don't understand this world!
