Because I did. They had names, and relationships, and I played favorites... They were sometimes more valuable friends than anyone I knew. Got rid of them when I started worrying what people would think of me (sigh).

One of my favorites was a stuffed rabbit I called RoboBunny - I'm quite keen on RoboCop - and I always felt better seeing him. Wonder where he is now. Sigh. :icon_sad:

I would like to hear your stuffed animal anecdotes please. And make them adorable.

Hell to the fuck yeah. I'm going to type up a shit ton of text.

Pearl > She was my tiger swallow-tail butterfly. She was shy, but friendly, and she loved acrobatics. I don't know where she is now.

Unicorn > Original name, I know. And I never really assigned them a gender. They're pretty big, though - and fluffy. And so, so old. Seriously.

One-Eye > Okay, so he had a different name, but I can't remember it. One of his green eyes fell out, so that's where the new name came from. I got him from some aquarium thing. He's grumpy as fuck. And he's orange.

Scotty > He's my Build-a-Bear timber wolf. He's a playful and curious little twerp.

Goldstrike > She's a hooded warbler. When I first got her, I didn't really know the differences between male and female hooded warblers, so I just gendered her as a girl. And even after I realized that she had the male pattern, she's still my feisty little girl.

Uncle Perry > Wild party animal of a pheasant. He always dies within every roleplaying story he's in. Sort of like Kenny from South Park.

Dakota > He's a quiet, reserved wood thrush - also the voice of reason when his family of ten different species of birds has a squabble.

Cole > Dull-witted, but always eager to lend a hand. He's a mourning dove, and he's quite big (not physically, just a imagined trait).

Hubble > He's the really mean mockingbird that doesn't really feel any remorse when he "accidentally" hits you with his wing.

Sierra > She's the self-righteous, empathetic great blue heron. She gets appalled at anything rude, and she likes to stay clean.

Archie > The typical strong and silent type. He's a rooster.

Martin > He's the mallard duck that lets me cry on his back everything I feel sad. I'm sure my snot is in his feathers. Oops. Sorry, not sorry.

Haru > Blue owl. He likes to wear eyeliner and spends a lot of time grooming, but he's pretty cool and friendly.

Cricket > An annoying grey and white kitten. She's extremely nosy and gets into trouble all the goddamn time.

Florida > She's a Barbie with her hair tied up in a ponytail. She's stuck up, but nice and kind when you get to know her. Also, she has big feet.
Are there others? Probably. But I can't remember them right now.

One of my main teddy bears had all different colored limbs. I called her Rainbow. I brought her everywhere when I was little. I was, and still am, extremely antisocial, introverted, and shy, so this stuffed animal was my best friend, my cuddling object, and the thing I slept with when I was little. She was my favorite stuffed animal; I loved teddy bears. When I was six, my family went on this cruise around Africa and southern Asia. I brought Rainbow every time I went anywhere on the cruise ship and off the cruise ship, when we actually visited the countries. She earned the reputation from my family of the "traveling bear." I still have her, but she's down in the basement somewhere.

I used to collect all sorts of other stuffed animals, from everywhere I went, but I soon had so many I didn't know what to do with them all. So I eventually taught myself to resist the urge whenever I saw a cute stuffed animal I wanted to buy. Seriously, though... Forget the human-looking toys: the porcelain dolls, the plastic Barbie dolls, the Polly Pockets, or any action figures. Stuffed animals are the way to go.

Yes... At one time, I had about 200. Favorites were Lily the tiger (a giant, almost life size bangle tiger), stuffed Pokemon, Larry the lion, and Thomas Coyote (a souvenir from a popular casino in town). They all served as the cast of a television show I liked to stage in my room, occasionally dragging my brother along to fill in for villain of the week.

Had a big teddy that had it's fur messed up in the dryer and parents wanted to throw it away. No! It doesn't matter how scratchy he is, I love him forever! Stupid parents. :tantrum:

I still have all my stuffed animals. Most of them are in a bag in the garage somewhere, but the really special ones are still in my room, including my Ty stuffed cat that I've had since I was 2. That one still sits on a shelf in my room :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I slept with that cat in my bed as a teen even

Yes! I still have a Paddington Bear that I got from my parents when I was born. His name is Bibi 'cause obviously I couldn't say "Paddington" when I was younger, lol. Can't remember what we did with all the other stuffed animals I used to have...

What do you mean as a kid?

I had an entire stack of stuffed animals on my bed until my mom packed them all away. Now I just have Leia, a white tiger that I've had since fourth grade. I even take her to college with me.

Back before Leia, the first stuffed animal I remember having was a platypus by the name of Platy (I was unimaginative when it came to names as a child). I've been trying to find him for about ten years now because I don't actually remember what happened to him.

I had way too many, and ALL of them had to sleep in my bed with me every night because I was afraid that if I left any out, they'd get mad and attack me.
It was a very tight fit.

I had quite the collection when I was a kid. I still have some displayed in my bedroom and have had to make a "rule" for myself not to get more. I kind of use the excuse that I like to make stuffed animals sometimes so that makes it more "ok" at my age to collect them . I haven't made any in quite awhile, though I have an Owlcat, an Andrewsarchus, and a Leptictidium that I created myself among the small group of other plushies that were store bought or gifts.

You can't let any of your best friends feel neglected. Unless they've done something to raise your ire... Nah impossible.
