So, I heard this today. Now first off: WTF!!! :***: :bang: :tantrum:
The argument was that 'ugly' people should be really glad that they're not likely to be raped; and if they are, they should be glad of the attention.
This is just so wrong, in so many ways, I don't even know where to begin.
I was just wondering how many of you have come across this thinking before. Please don't tell me this is common. :tears:

How's someone going to be grateful for being raped? That doesn't make any sense. Btw, not everyone is raped because the rapist thinks the victim is attractive...

I'm sure that's what all the psychopaths say to justify their bad behavior, just avoid them if you can.

I've heard comments like this before....But it's by people who really need to look in the mirror twice before making such atrocious remark.
Saying that you should be grateful for rape is also pointing out that the trauma and abuse they dealt with are to be thankful for.

Yeah, rape isn't about sex or love, it's about power. And even if it was that is a disgusting and sick view to have.

I know, that's one of the many things wrong with this argument. I just raged so hard against it. How can people genuinely think like this?!

well i've seen people say similiar type of shit like "ugly" people should die and stuff like that.

some people base people's worth and value on how attractive they think people are, sumthin so subjective and either way doesn't warrant whether someone should live or not or be grateful for bein raped or not.

I've heard it insinuated before, but never met someone who actually said it point blank and believed it.

It was a guy I used to know from school. My friends and I were trying to avoid him, because he's usually a jerk, but in this case we couldn't.

Kind of reminds me of that scene in "Horrible Bosses" where they're arguing about who's the most rape-able.

In other words, it sounds like trolling/a joke.

Completely horrible. However I confess that a part of my brain said with a shit eating grin "What was one not <troll face>". The internet has ruined me.

I've known this guy for 8 years - but hadn't seen him in about a year - and I can tell when he is just messing around. This time he was deadly serious, which was what shocked me.
