Is it me or is the blood donation ban on gay and bisexual men that have had sex with other men discrimination?
In the current social environment, yes. When it was created it was very sensical, aids was a mystery gay virus that killed and we had no tests for. Now that it is found regardless of orientation and is included in screening, the ban is out dated and discriminatory.
Absolutely. Everyone gets tested for STDs before they can donate blood. As I said in another thread about this, not letting gays get married is one thing, but not letting them save lives?
