like the cost of living in Washington (I linked this earlier I think once?) is only a couple of dimes higher than the minimum wage. If you can manage to get a job paying more than min. wage, or cut some of the expenses like rent, you can live independently. It won't be luxurious but damn it'll be "yours" and she can't take that away from you.

Okay, if your mother is hitting you, GET AWAY FROM HER. That is never healthy in any relationship. It must tell you something that she has to resort to using violence in order for her to get what she wants. Doesn't it? I suggest that you go find some friends/other family members that can support you financially and for your sexual orientation. You deserve better than to be coerced into going to church and making friends. I'm appalled that she goes to church and acts this way. Abhorrent...

 

this is an Escalation Stocking you need to get out NOW. it is a mistake to think you can endure for a "couple of years". you have to trust me on this as someone who got out of an abusive relationship and who works in the social sector. Please find new accomodations, even a shelter is better than getting hit and worst that i see coming. your mom is, as far as i can see based on your posts, mentally ill and you are not equiped to handle or treat her. she needs professional help.

think of a shelter as a detour on the path to getting an apartment. there may be social workers or community workers there who can help you get there.(&&&)
