    I don't understand your question.
Do you mean why are people heterosexual?
Or why are there heterosexual people on this site?

Maybe they are interested in learning more about LGBT people. I appreciate it when people go out of their way to learn more.

They maybe have LGBT+ family/friends that they have questions about or are concerned for. The only other reason that I can think of is thy they're open minded and know were all the cool kids are :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Seems like some of them might be... curious? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Well anyone that wants to socialize here and isn't being dick can be here even if it is just to check out the queer forum.

Yes, you have reason, now i know that LGBT forum is not only for LGBT people , is for heterosexual people too.

Otherwise we would look like discriminators.

I figure they're allies. Some are trans, of course.

I'd say it is more pragmatic than that. When coming out of the closet to family is such a problem that the site itself is named for it, there are opportunities to help those family members come to grips more easily with what they are feeling, and the reality of their situation too. By doing that, it should help make it a bit easier to come out. Doesn't always work that way, but it does help.

Even if they didn't open an account, there is nothing stopping someone from lurking and reading anyways. Our posts aren't hidden from the web. By being more inclusive, you also get the opportunity to interact with folks who would otherwise only lurk. And you are going to have a better opportunity to really expose them to new ideas if it is a two-way street.

It may be obvious to point this out but this is a cultural formation that, by being as open as it is, allows for a great deal of knowledge and experience to be diffused without (I hope) allowing for distasteful social engineering to occur. By the nature of the communications here, people can be very free indeed without much in the way of censorship. These are all to the good when carried out.

Some are just straight allies, I'm not gonna deny that.

But the reality is, some of the people who label themselves "straight" on this site, are probably in the process of accepting the fact that they might be gay/lesbian/bisexual.

There are straight people here who are parents of gay children.

Parents of gay children or just curious about the LGBT community?
And then there are straight trans people who are still part of the LGBT community....

    Transition, good point.

Heterosexual parents of gay children. Good point too.

Trans members, allies (including parents), people who want to learn (such as parents who have to learn before becoming true allies), and people who questioned their sexuality, but settled with heterosexuality after time and hung around.

Also, quite a few members start off with "straight" while being obviously gay/bi. Some even admit that, but are too ashamed of themselves at that point to label themselves as such.
