So, long story short, this guy from my city and nearby community college randomly added me on FB. Ok, I'll be honest, I added him because he was cute and goes to a nearby community college. We do have a mutual acquaintance(who I suspect may have added him for several reasons), but I just now have seen his profile pic as an ad for one of those tube site. So, either his page is a sham and not really a person but a company or this website lifted his profile pic. He added me in May and was online like all the time on chat, but I didn't have the guts to message him. Anyways, he hasn't been around since. I figured that he could be away from the summer or whatever. How would one go about verifying if I have been catfished or not? I realize I haven't met him, but it still freaks me out a little. Thanks.

Yeah it's probably fake. I'd say just delete it and move on.

I would be on the side of caution and say that you are being catfished. Run away, as fast as you can, now!!

Either run away or confront him. There's this guy who is trying to add me on facebook the other day too but I think it's obvious that his abs were photoshopped but I guess his 2000 followers weren't too aware of it.

People make fake profiles all of the time. Just delete and move on.

The only reason I don't believe I have been catfished is because he posted on other people's walls in deep conversation. He has posted other profile pics that look similar to that one and not as revealing. He has had other local people post on his wall. I lean towards somebody lifting his pic, but I don't know how one goes about verifying things. The internet is such an enigma.

Maybe he got those other profile pics of the internet. Maybe he lifted it off of the same guy the porn company got the picture from.

Well other than going on the show catfish (if you are brave enough; I would never do that idk how to verify whether or not the profile is really fake enough or not. As others have said, just delete if you are suspicious.
