We're not looking for just sex, we're looking for a serious relationship.

Okay? Some people are looking for just sex and I wouldn't call them a "slut" either. Not for that reason alone at least.

If this is a response to a certain something I read awhile ago:

I know. I understand stereotypes and generalizations hurt. But, unfortunately, it's difficult to break loose - from both the stereotyped and the stereotyping.

Understand that, ever since we were born, society has shaped our perceptions into a certain way of thinking. One of them is the woman = vagina, man = penis concept. Another is the "all gay people are pedophiles" concept. And, yes, there is also the bisexual = slut concept.

Is it true? No. But will people listen? No.

Soon, though, this negative perception will die out. I promise. It will. I swear it. I'll be damned if it doesn't.

I'm pretty sure OP's "we" meant bisexual people.

You say slut like it's a bad thing. I doubt I qualify as a slut being a virgin and all, but I bet some of the people on this site have had sex with many people, and not all of them are looking for a relationship.

It would depend on your view of the word.

"Slut" has many negative connotations to it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being promiscuous, but many people will not want to be promiscuous because they are not. For me, it's not because I view promiscuity as a bad thing. Just something I'm not. Similar to how, if someone calls me a girl, I will be upset. Not because being a girl is a bad thing. I'm just not a girl.

It probably also upsets people that others are using it negatively. So, there's that too.

As long as we call it avant garde the fancy people would pay to see it.

I'm the same way. I was less defending myself, and more the other people on this site. I can definitely understand not wanting to be associated with promiscuity because of prejudice, but at the same time I think people have a right to do what they want without being judged so long as they are hurting no one.
