Fun Idea! - Empty Closets - A safe online community for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender people coming out

Well I got this idea from the whole 'closet' thing that relates to being gay/lesbian/bi/whatever. My idea is to decorate the inside of your closet door with gay pride pictures or poems or pictures. just whatever you want. If you are not out yet you can still do this just put the pictures inside of the closet so no one can see (that's only is you don't want them too). My joke for it is when i open my closet (with a friend or someone) they'll see all the gay pride stuff and i'll say 'guess i'm out of the closet, now, huh?' a lot of people in my family and friends (who i'm already out to) have found it funny. But it's not all about being a joke. it's like you can display how you feel about your sexuality in a creative way. (i've very creative myself so my whole closet door is loaded). Some examples that i put in my closet are: self colored pictures of rainbows, hearts and such, gay pride sayings, poems, mini-posters i made under windows powerpoint (you can download many gay pride pictures off of this program). You can really do anything though. I'll try to get a picture of my closet up in this thread later. What do you guys/gurls think of this idea? cool or cheesy? You could make a closet display and then post it up here to iff you want. Sorry if this post is a bit long. I get excited over something and then i don't shut up for a while

my closet literally has no door and it is small. figuratively, i shut the door around homophobes. i'm out to almost everyone.

Hahaha, that's pretty cool. I mean, my closet is fairly big (for someone who doesn't really have that many clothes and is male), and doesn't really belong to me, seeing as how I'm in foster care, but it's still a really cool idea. ^_^

Wow! Very bold! I like the "real love" heart ^^ I'm not too sure as to what I'll put in my closet yet, but I have time to think, because one of my roomates still has to move his stuff out of it so I can put some boxes in (then it will be officially mine). Heh, if I actually come out today like I've planned, I'll be out of the closet before I actually have complete ownership of one, hehe.

...only one minor problem. i got one of those weird closet doors that like folds, soooo...it would be kinda hard, but im prreeeetttyyy sure i could do it

Last time I cleaned my room my friend, who's a lesbian came over[Who suspected I was gay since I was 8], and I was just kind of throwing things in the closet and I said "Yeah, there's more room in here now that I'm not in it."
I'm definitely gonna use that idea though. =]

It sounds like a cool idea, but my family would probably flip out a little bit. And there's not much room in mine - mine has sliding doors as well, and it's packed fully with clothes, and then a bunch of junk on the top shelf. I might still be able to do it, though.

We sort-of do in the new house (well it's a built-in wardrobe with sliding doors). There is certainly no room for me in there, it's full of clothes and other stuff.

Lol, I don't have a closet, but I do have a Wall locker which is sort of like a closet... But its full of army gear, like my armor and sleeping bags and stuff.
