I'm totally new to the whole community, but I'd like to feel at home while expanding my social circle and discover what I really want , so I'm looking for relatively discreet places to meet other queers. I'm mainly looking for laid back places to meet potential dates in London. I'm not interested in quick hook ups at all, especially since I'm so inexperienced. Dating sites intimidate me a whole lot, so that wouldn't be helpful. I recently trying to come out to my self as well, so I'm still lonely and pretty shy. I'm eager to meet people, but in a more friendly environment and not something too high charged? Could anyone help?
have you tried things like meetup.com to find social / activity groups in London? .. or London Friend (Kings Cross) if you want something more LGBT specific
Thanks Bingostring. I will have a look on both as Am still totally new and I wanna get involved. Any suggestions for a friendly bar or club?
Normally I would say soho as that is where all the gay bars are but it can get pretty hectic. London Lesbian and Gay Switchboard This is a good resource for you!
It's been 10 years since I was in London, so not sure if these are still in existance or if they're still good. Might depend on which crowd you prefer to mix with as well. Kings Arms (Bear Bar) - highly recommend the Karaoke on Sunday nights XXL (Bear Club) G-A-Y Bar - Old Compton Street G-A-Y Club - Used to be held at Astoria but I think it's at the Heaven night club now I also made a few friends just while chilling or reading in Soho Square on a weekend. I went to some gay social events in London as well - ten pin bowling for example - I found them at a site called outintheuk or outeverywhere... not sure if it's still popular though. Peace! (*hug*)
