Just curious how others here would dress to attend a funeral.

For me, it would be a black suit, white French cuff shirt, and a dark tie, along with black dress shoes.

Black trousers and shirt usually. I've never been to one where the person has asked for anything else - it's always been the more traditional type.

I've never been to a funeral, but I'm always wearing black, so..

But I think funeral attire has to be formal, in that case I'd just wear a black suit + black tie and undershirt.

And then I'd wear that same outfit for other events in the future haha

Do you mean "morning clothes," "morning dress," or "mourning clothes?". Morning dress might be a little too formal haha

Black suit now--when I was younger and a little less traditional in my self-presentation I used to wear black shoes, black pants, black dress shirt and black tie when I went to funerals. I looked like I was all mobbed up...

As the grim reaper, the bringer of hugs shall also be the bringer of death. This is the way of life come here and get a very special hug from me (*hug*).

I don't really dress up for funerals. If you know me you know I wear jeans and usually something like a polo or a nice sweater every where I go. This will include your funeral. Yea, my shirt will probably be black, but I will be dressed pretty much the same way that you knew me in life.

I would like to wear a modest black suit with black shoes or nice slacks and a nice shirt, but knowing my current situation I would probably have to wear a black dress.

I don't own a suit. Usually a button down shirt is the nicest I can go.

Something nice and conservative.. I have in the last just worn a nice dress or long skirt and top or long pants and a top. You don't need to go over the top, but I think it is respectful that you wear something a bit nicer then what you would wear everyday.. I wore my work clothes to a fellow colleagues funeral, mainly as I was at work and was able to get out of work to go and then had to go back and also as a sign of respect to her family to show she had lots of colleagues who loved and cared for her.

I've only been to a few funerals (thankfully) and it's always been a black dress (except for one funeral where our friend wanted it to be a happy celebration of her life and wanted everyone to wear bright, cheerful clothing)

I've only ever been to one funeral and my memories of it do not include what I wore. I have no idea.
