You looking for classical at all, go with George Gershwin, has some awesome piano concertos, and he's a hella good piano player. Jazz go for Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Dave Brubeck is an awesome composer who did some awesome things with time. Rock anything Queen, most their stuff is great.

Also, look up Shostakovich for some angry Russian music (even his lighter movements sound evil...) and he did some boss piano parts. In the piano boat, also go with Chopin because his music is simply amazing.
Go for some Dizzy Gillespie! Amazing hard bop and jazz.

I just thought of a great suite that is AWESOME! The Planets Suite, by Gustav Holst. Mars, the war bringer; will probably bring back memories of Gladiator, as Zimmer kind of ripped it off.

As regards classical, you really can't go wrong with Holst, Chopin, or Tchaikavsky. (On a side note, I remember reading somewhere that Tchaikavsky was gay. Anyone else know anything about that?) Specifically, I recommend Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu in c sharp minor. As for more modern music, Panic at the Disco is pretty good (their first album; I don't like their newer stuff) and so is Avenged Sevenfold.

*stolen from Wikipedia* "Several writers have claimed that the loss of his mother was formative on Tchaikovsky's sexual development, and couple this with his experience of the same-sex practices said to be widespread among students at the School of Jurisprudence.[6] Whatever the truth of this, some friendships with fellow students, such as Aleksey Apukhtin and Vladimir Gerard, were intense enough to last the rest of his life."

...."friendships" digest that bit-o-gold

Why didn't anyone say Rammstein? Is it because noone likes them? Well, I do. Go for Spieluhr, if you want a specific song, or Mutter for an album.
Or why not try the music from The Rocky Horror Picture Show? It's wonderful, in my opinion.
If you want some satanic metal, try Dimmu Borgir. Personally I don't like the BB's, but otherwise they're fantastic.
Since I'm up and running, most of the Disney songs are fabulous.
There's a finnish band called Turmion Kätilöt. Don't hesitate.
Also, I'll have to mention Apocalyptica. Hardcore cello, also finnish.
The Tetris-theme is also great.

I'm not much for genres, as one might see. But I've mentioned a lot of different music, and all of it is wonderful.
