It summarizes a GLBTPQ person's life in 21 lines.

One step out of the door
and they are pushed onto the dirt.
They are locked inside, but not today.

Their blood is spread unto the wall
in the very place that they called home.
They run into the distance, but no, not today.

The pressure is too much to believe
that death is often their only relief.
Scars are always left behind, but not today.

    Judgement bends their hateful minds
to tie them to fences in the coldest of nights.
Life slowly fades, but no, not today.

    Malevolence twists their thoughts
To hanging two people who expressed their love.
The noose is prepared, but not today.

Many use the laws of their state
To deny any right be allowed or made.
Equality is nonexistent, but no, not today.

They are the millions who still
are not understood, but I am proud to say
that today will not be that day.

Message of hope for the world.. Understanding is needed for all of us.. Although we don't know when that day will come.. We can only hope it will..
