I think we're in Narnia. Not too sure.
Scientist, no doubt. I love science, learning about the universe, and the things around me. It's all just too interesting, I'd hate to see people not make an effort to find out about the universe which we live in and are part of.

I passionately want to teach primary school children, but what I truly want is to be a parent when I grow up.

I hate the way the question is worded. Makes me feel like I'm 5 years old.

Anyways, in the future I want to be the vocalist of a Gothic/Visual band in Japan

Teacher is what I am working toward  Probably a Latin teacher. But I could see teaching history as well.

I've already grown up. But I suppose the question still stands. I want to be a revolutionary.

I've known people who were retired and still haven't figured out what they want to be when they grew up. Now that my desired profession is off the table, I have no idea.

I want to be animator, working on games and movies and cartoons. I'm hoping to study it in Edinburgh year after next.

I have no clue, and I have no desire to have an opinion.

I think people think waaaaay more about this than is productive for them, and adults ask kids to think about this way too young as well. Being a kid is supposed to be about figuring out what you like *right now*; not planning your adulthood.

Question: When you're, say, my age, do you think you're going to take career advice from some 16-18 year old kid? Do what he/she thinks you should do?

I should hope not. And yet, when you decide at 16-18 on what you want to do when you grow up, that is exactly what you're subjecting yourself to.

If you are young, and feel under pressure to decide this question...give yourself a break, relax, have some cookies if you like them. You'll have your entire life to figure out what you want to do with your entire life. Chill. And tell those people to leave you alone.

If you do happen to have a strong opinion on what you want to do when you grow up, great for you...but be aware that (a) our interests change as we get older and what sounds awesome at 16 may not sound so great at 40...or 25; and (b) you may not actually have the talent/aptitude you need to do the thing that sounds so cool...so don't put all your emotional eggs in that single basket. I'm not (at all) saying it's not worth pursuing or trying...just saying to be realistic about your expectations, and prepare yourself not to be wrecked if it doesn't work out the way you hoped.

I think the better question to ask is, "What do I want to be right now? How can I accept what I am as the person I am?"

That is how I got from where I have been to where I am, and that is how I will get to where I am going.

This is brilliant. I didn't get to do *any* of the things I wanted/planned/ trained for when I was a kid. But today, I'm happy. I've met so many amazing people lately, learned things about myself, and I feel like my life is improving for the first time in literally years.
