Default Human Cloning.

Very random topic, I'm aware, but for my General Studies homework, I have to find out my friends' views on Human Cloning, and as the few friends i have are actually in my general studies class, i can't ask them, so i thought of you guys! my online friends!!!

So any input about your views on Human Cloning is greatly appreciated.

No arguments please....

Thanks so much for any input

Always glad to help .

I think Human cloning is helpful, think of the possibilities if we need a donor. Although it raises the thing, well don't clones have souls too,so I'm not sure altogether

At this stage in cloning, even attempting to clone a human would be foolish and a waste of money; the chance of extreme defect or death are outrageously high. However, I see no reason why we shouldn't keep developing our cloning technology until it eventually reaches the level needed to successfully clone humans 99% of the time.

I haven't read much about it. But I think it's quite inhumane.
When creating Dolly the sheep, the first animal clone, they had many sheep made in the process who ended up being killed or deformed. This would happen to humans too.
This may be done out of narcissistic vanity, since we naturally assume that we have 'good' genes. Cloning should never be done for this reason.
There also seems to be enough un-cloned children who need a home, without rich businessmen creating numerous little lemmings in their own image. It seems to be a very unnatural thing to do, and you could see in future if this became common practice a stigma being created against the new minority of clones. The world famous first ever clone and everyone after that wouldn't have an easy time at school or in life, as they will be regarded as less than human.
Of course there is the argument for donors, as Ronnie said. But clones will think as humans and feel as humans. They will be intelligent humans. Therefore harvesting them for organs would be highly unethical. Just because we created them does not give us permission to destroy them.

Also, Just because science is advanced enough to be able to do this does in no way make this practice the right thing to do.

That's my deliberately biased opinion, some of those facts may be wrong. Hope I helped

I don't agree with it personally. I don't have scientific or religious justification behind my opinion, merely my own moral and ethical beliefs.

I don't understand why this is even necessary. If somebody had a bad heart and they needed a transplant, I can understand how it would be better to be able to implant an exact replica. However, to create another human being in the exact image of another makes no sense. You can't clone souls.

^ If someone had a bad heart, their clone would probably have one as well as there are many genetic predispositions and causes for that kind of thing...^
I don't agree with it at all, for the same reasons as beckyg and Pixbadgirl...

It's a waste of technology. We don't need more people, it's just scientists trying to PROVE they can.

I see human cloning as a very unnecessary thing. We are overpopulated enough... Orphanages are overflowing. There is no reason to clone more people when we can't take care of the ones that are already present on this planet.

I do think that human embryonic stem cell research should continue though, especially if such a science may lead to cures and treatments to leukemia, cancer, and spinal cord damage to name a few.

I think if you clone an entire person you can't harvest their organs, but if you just clone the individual organs thats chill. I read a whole book themed off some guy living forever cause he cloned kids and took their organs, it was sad but they poisoned one of his clones and he died. lol.

I'm not too fond of the idea, it goes against my believe that humans have no power to chose who lives or dies.

I'm just not comfortable with the idea of human cloning. What if something goes horribly wrong? What if the clones have no emotions? No souls? What if it gets into the wrong hands? They'd be an unstoppable army. Send 10,000 terrorist clones, let them all die, clone 10 million more. What if they do have feelings? We'd have to make so many laws to protect them and they'd be protests and discrimination too. The scientists should just let Nature do its job.

Like the others have said, the world is overpopulated enough and the money can be used for something more useful, not for the ultimate science project.

We are still evolving, and if we start cloning instead of breeding we won't. We'd have a world of copies, and nothing new would come out of it. Therefor, the word of my choise is "no".
