Do you like role playing?

We've tried that on the forum before, I think, but I don't think it worked. I don't think there's any harm in trying though, if people want to get involved, on the Fun and Games subforum

When talking about Tabletop RPGs, I've DMed a BFRPG game before and should be starting our Rise of the Runelords Pathfinder campaign soon somepoint, which should be fun.

 

I love roleplaying but ive sadly never tried any table top anything due to a lack of friends to do it with combined with the fact that im a coward.

 

I wonder how many people would take part if we did start a forum roleplay....

Anyone up for it?

 

How does a roleplay forum work exactly?

 

We already had a roleplaying game here put it ended maybe we can bring that back but Kasey gone. Lets make a new one I want to be game master.

 

Essentially, the person who starts it sets out a universe in which the rp will take part, with details and stuff, as well as a Character Sheet template (this could also be kept on another thread entirely). When people join, they fill in the character sheet, post it and then you post to describe your actions, speech and interactions with NPCs (either controlled by an elected Games Master (Most games won't have one) or the player themselves) and other players (who control their own character's actions) and so on and so forth

I can create a simple world for it to take place in, in like 10 minutes or so.

 

Haha! This reminds me of when my boyfriend and I first got together and he told me he played role playing games. I was like wtf?! Turns out he was talking about acting out video games with gamer friends or something like that. He's a gamer and a geek. I was instantly less excited. lol. I haven't roled played, but I'd like to try sometime! lol

 

Instead of a Character sheet why not make a template to fit into the signature space?

 

That's possible???

We only have 4 lines, right?

You need to fit all sorts like character background and stuff.

What about a Sci Fi world but we arent characters, we are ships with crew numbers and weapons. That could cut down on the number of information we need plus we could stick a picture of our ship in the signature?

I would still reccomend having a template somewhere to describe our weaponry, ship background, major crew etc.

I'm gonna start drawing up a few main factions and stuff. If you have any ideas, just tell me.

Also, CandyKing wants it to be set in Closetia (I dont know what that is) so I was thinking like far future, with the Gnerd/Skittle war being like ancient history and stuff?

I love role playing and I'm currently doing a iron kingdoms role play (set in the warmachine and hordes universe) with friends.

 

My dad promised my brother and I that he would gm Iron kingdoms for us. I had a cool Arcane Mechanic/Field Mechanic made with a massive back story and everything but we never got round to it.

 

I'd be up for that. I've always wanted to try out forum roleplaying.

I've played at least 30 games, although it's been a couple years. I still have a few setups somewhere. If ~12 people would be up for a forum mafia game, I could mod it.

 

They're not as evil as the borg.
They are an oligarchal society, however, the people making up the oligarchy are all from small democratic groups, if that is even possible?

That's starting to sound more and more like a standard democracy. Errrrrm

How about a democracy made from smaller oligarchies?

Make sure you have the boring humans that get beaten by everything but are somehow still alive. Also will there be some sort of ship restrictions in this world you are forging?
