I think there is evidence for *something*. Are these "presences" the souls of the dead? I have no idea. Perhaps people can leave energy behind like an echo?

There are actually explanations for some ghost sightings. I voted no. =]

Every ghost claim can either be disproven or not proven in the first place. Every ghost has a coincidence or convenience behind it.
Seriously, people making these claims are funny to watch.

Voted no because there's no in-between option. There are some "ghosts" which appear due to the right combination of events + rampant imagination, but there are other things which are so weird that they defy reality. My real opinion is "maybe."

My uncle has worked at an old state hospital and prison and has some pretty weird stories of stuff that's happened there. He even said that it made him believe more in God as a result. I have no reason to question that he saw/observed something, but to say it was a ghost/spirit is a little too much for me. I am skeptical.

    Two accounts he experienced:

At an old prison in broad daylight he and another guard were moving several inmates. As they went past a utility room the door's handle began to jiggle up and down. They stopped and he got his keys and opened to door. There was nothing there.

At an old state hospital at night, he was doing his nightly rounds (he had barely started) and saw this floating black mass and it freaked him out. As he ran back to the security room, the other guard saw his face and just said, "so you saw the black shadow?" Apparently, he wasn't the first one to see it.

I have not been blessed/cursed with an experience. However, if I did experience "something," I would probably make a mental list of all of the possible explanations and put "actual ghost/spirit" dead last on the list (pun not intended).

I believe in Casper, the friendly ghost.

    And in Daniel Johnston...

"He was smiling through his own personal hell
Dropped his last dime in a wishing well
But he was hoping to close and then he fell
Now he's Casper the Friendly Ghost

He was always polite to the people who'd tell him
That he was nothing but a lazy bum, but
Goodbye to them he had to go
Now he's Casper the Friendly Ghost

Nobody treated him nice while he was alive
You can't buy no respect like the librarian said, but
    Everybody respects the dead, they
    Love a friendly ghost

And now they say we'll never forget what he learned
As we were mean to him but he never burned
    Just singing, "love lives forever!"
Thank you, Casper the Friendly Ghost
Thank you, Casper the Friendly Ghost"

no because we've been "developed" on this gay earth for a lot of time and i feel like we would fucking have a concrete answer on this by now beyond "yea man i had.... [looks around] an experience once...." if ghosts were just chillin everywhere not paying rent

get outta my shit or buy some food, ghosts

Imagine if there were ghosts. I wonder how many of them have watched me masturbate.

I hope they enjoyed the show.

Not necessarily by that logic. We were civilized for thousands of years before we could figure out that lightning wasn't a projectile weapon used by deities. You do have outliers like the Baghdad Battery, but for the most part there were phenomena like electricity that were right in front of us for ages and only very recently understood/harnessed. And it's safe to say that what we see as paranormal happenings are much harder to examine than electricity.

No. I've seen neither evidence, nor any credible theory of how the laws of nature would permit this. I'm sure there are things yet undiscovered in this universe, but I'm equally sure they're rational and natural, and as such, I see no need to believe in them unless there's reason to.

    Lol.

Unverified eyewitness accounts really aren't admissible. Even in criminal courts, they're much less reliable than people think. Us humans are an unreliable lot, and highly vulnerable to suggestion. Hey, I once thought I saw santa outside my window.

    I've seen a ghost.

I'm being dead serious, right now. Even with the pun.

A few neighborhood kids had broken into an old school here, and we were all in the same area, a few feet away from one another. Me, the bad ass that I was, decided to wander off and go a few hallways down. Upon coming to the corner of one, I saw what had to be a ghost... if it wasn't, I have no idea what it was.

Anyway, I ran out of there, and past the other kids, and left. I didn't feel comfortable being there.

So, I think it is possible something like that exists. But shows like Ghost Hunters don't really help matters.
