Bat out of Hell- Meatloaf: Progressive rock listen to pretty much anything from the albums named after this song then something like AC/DC or Metallica. They will sound slow.

She Talks to Angels- Black Crows: More modern progressive rock with a catchy chorus and amazing emotion in the vocals


Yea, they are older songs but you said you wanted "kick ass" you didn't say new.
Knocking on Heaven's Door- Guns N Roses: Ok I really don't have much to say here other than AWESOME

Texas Flood- Stevie Ray Vaughan: I could listen to him play the blues all day and this is one amazing guitar performance

Something to Believe In - Poison: I absolutely love this song.

Not sure if it fits you're definition of "kick-ass", but I've been listening to it nonstop for the past few days. It's hypnotic. A kind of alternative/electronic beat.

My Song 5 - Haim

It's got a a kind of soft yet angry vibe, but by one of my favorite bands, personally. There's also a version featuring A$AP Ferg with a rap interlude that's a bit raunchy, but it adds an extra layer to the listening factor.

 

If I Were A Ship - Hey Ocean! This is a very sweet love song, and Hey Ocean!'s lead vocalist is Ashleigh Ball, the voice of Rainbow Dash and Applejack!

The Time is Now - Moloko. This is a sexy song, with a kickin' bassline. I feel like I'm in love when I hear it.

Down With the Sickness - Disturbed. Metal. This one reaches me, gets me headbangin'. Sometimes I need a violent beat, and dark lyrics.

Obelisk - May'n starring as Sheryl Nome, from the anime Macross Frontier. I feel sorry for all the people that will never hear the music from Macross Frontier. I hope you can feel what I feel when Sheryl sings. If you like Obelisk, try Northern Cross, shinkuu no Diamond Crevasse, and Welcome to my Fanclub's Night.

How about Caro Diamond? Back It Up is a really good, catchy song, with a lovely music video to accompany it.

 

I recommend listening to Only Shallow by My Bloody Valentine. If you do, make sure you listen to it on a good pair of headphones or via some decent speakers at a nice volume.
