    Pretty straight forward, I'd say.

How do you handle being embarrassed/humiliated/ridiculed?

Do you withdraw into yourself? Run away in tears? Bite your tongue and contain the anger? Do you just 'zone out' to escape the situation? Or, is it something else?

I ask this, because how people respond to such, has always interested me. It says a lot about a person, when you remove them from their comfort zone, and how they handle being outside of that. It, like power, often reveal, to me, the truest layers of an individual.

I laugh. It's sometimes a real laugh, sometimes a fake laugh, but I laugh. To make me seem as though I don't care, the deflect bullying etc.

Pretend like it doesn't happen, or just don't care about it. If someone brings up a bad memory or that of an embarrassing one, it shows how much they care about my life apparently. Nothing really to do but move on and away from it.

I grab the nearest spade, dig a hole for myself, climb into that hole and fill it up as soon as possible.

This is all metaphorical of course - but I don't handle embarrassment well some of the time. I try to laugh it off and make jokes as much as possible, but nobody likes being embarrassed do they?

It depends on the situation. If I'm clumsy and fall or whatever I will most definitely laugh. If I embarrass myself socially or in class (having the wrong answer etc.) I'll remain calm but slowly die inside.

Terribly. Depends on the situation though. If it's genuinely funny, awesome. But feeling humiliated is the worst thing for me. I'd try to rationalize what happened to people and hope they aren't too cruel. :/

What's that silly word you're speaking of?
    It's not in my vocabulary.

I accept my failure and accept the humiliation if I outright failed or messed something up I thought I could do or manage. That's what you get for over-estimating yourself.

If it's unjust humiliation... for simply being who I am, my orientation, preferences... I tell them to stop. Then I demand that they stop. Then I warn them. Then I start a fight and beat them up.

I either just shrug it off, knowing they're just jealous of my exciting life, and leave them to their misery, or if it's too offensive, I skip directly to the warning and proceed to beating them if they won't listen.

Yeah, remaining calm is really difficult sometimes :icon_redf especially if i'm getting nervous and start sweating, makes me feel really self-conscious.

That why when embarassed i usually act like a clumsy airhead and start laughing so people won't notice :icon_redf (wow now i feel really stupid)

It's a synonym of "humiliated" that's usually used to mean instances that are less severe. Spilling a drink on yourself is embarrassing; pissing yourself is humiliating.

If it's about me being clumsy, depending on how embarrassing it was, I could either laugh for real, force a laugh or I just gracefully ignore it. >_< If it's stuff being brought up then, I can get a bit worked up if it's completely embarrassing, I might want to disappear from this world sometimes, I could just make it into a joke and have a good laugh. I guess, it all depends on the level of embarrassment. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

In the other situations, humiliated/ridiculed, it also works the same way. It depends on what level it was. I like to just ignore it or brush it off mostly, just to make the whole thing into something fun for everyone... mostly for me. Hahaha >_<

    I was joking. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    To clarify:

It's next to impossible for me to do something that makes me feel embarrased or humiliated.
But when I do, I just accept it.

What I don't accept are others trying to humiliate or ridicule me.
I described how I deal with that in my first post.

I handle it awfully. I'm socially awkward as it is. Sometimes I get flushed and don't say anything, sometimes I ignore it, and sometimes I have to leave the room to go cool down somewhere where others can't see me.

I hate feeling embarrassed.. If I am at home I will usually storm off to my room and cry and if I am out, I usually pout quietly.
