What is your haircut style? How do you describe it to the person cutting it?

I need to get a haircut (always relatively short) and was wondering what is your hairstyle style and/or how you tell the hair cutter person (what the heck do you even call them :lol:slight_smile: how to cut it?

I always have trouble and just say "use scissors all around, cut it short, but not too short, and relatively conservative (i.e "business-like), round out the back." I might try a different style this time, but it's always hard to veer off from what you usually get.

I recently cut off a bunch of hair and donated it. It's a little longer than shoulder length with medium layers and side swept bangs.

When I last got a haircut, it was shorter on the sides and back, with scissor cut top and just slightly trimmed bangs. Right now I'm growing it out a bit to try and get the Nezumi look from No. 6 going. Here's 2 pictures of what I want eventually:

I ask hairdressers to cut the sides and back short and trim the top so there's enough to play with.

I also cutting my hair for years.

Before starting self-cut thingie I always wear the style Aussie described which goes by the name of "Officer cut or American cut" in here. Idea comes from hiding your longer hair under hat while sides give the impression of short cut.

Same as TJ. 4 on the top, 2 on the sides. Sometimes I've done a little longer on the top, but I've been doing 2 on the sides for years :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I like my hair long(er) but not to the point of getting in my eyes and face. How I have it in my profile pic describes how I like it best.

When I had it long, I used to just tell them, "Sip the tips!"

But when my dreadlocks experiment failed, I had to chop it all off. Now, I have somewhat-lengthy spikes.

The beautician that I go to, is an old friend of my grandmother's, so, she has tended to my hair for years. If it isn't long, that means just trim it; I tell her, "Make me sexier.", and she just fixes it up.

I'm not sure what I'd say, to a totally new barber. That is something to think about...

It's the classic short back and sides for me, with just a little length on top.

My hair is currently short, but only because my mohawk was recently terminated. I cut my own hair, so I don't have to describe it.

I honestly don't know how to style my hair so I wear a cap most of the time. I tell the barber though to have it semi formal cut like these:

I guess it depends on the shape of your head too, some look good in preppy hair cut while others can pull off a buzzcut.

I ask them to cut my hair concave! I LOVE my hair with this cut.. It suits me  and it's so easy to maintain! Also I ask for how much length I want cut off.. And then I get waxing done for my eyebrows and lip. All together it costs me $60 at the place I go to

I also dye my hair Rosewood Violet. My hair looks sexy after I dye it that colour. I'm naturally brunette though!

Concave bob and my hairdresser is just amazing. She always knows exactly what I want and how I want it and she always cuts a little less and then gets me to check to see if I want any more off it. I keep it short and simple as it's easy for me to maintain and looks good if it's straightened, curly or just how it naturally sits after drying.

    Hairdresser.

*thread* - I'm just like, "make me look sexy" and just sit there enjoying it.

Long hair on a guy is just so... (´▽`ʃƪ)♡

*fistbump* Beauty in simplicity, and all that.

*offtopic* - Well, now i suddenly feel like letting mine grow, this will be "fun".
