Umm... No? For some yes maybe? Who cares? People are people. Why attach and generalise behaviors to a gender then call it their nature? What does that put me in? I am gay so I am effeminine? I am gay so I am bitter? I am gay so I lack morals? I am gay so I don't give a damn what world think about me?
I really agree that gender has nothing to do with it, I think that kind if thinking comes down to the old way of thinking really. I don't really think you can judge that women are more possessive or men are more something else.. It is to fair on either genders cause it all comes down to the individual person and how they grew up.. They might have a reason for being a certain way, but I don't think it is ever right to blame it on the fact it is because the person is a "woman" or a "man".
I think women do tend to be more possessive. However, this is not to say that men cannot be exactly the same (trust me; I've met one. He only wanted a serious relationship and was too clingy for me to handle.)
Huh, I'd say it's about equal, all in all. Men seem to get a lot more angry and violent with their possessiveness, though.
I think both genders are for different reasons. A lot of men are sexually possessive and less likely to allow an open relationship I find.
It's interesting--I guess I had never really thought about it as a gendered characteristic. But when I do I have to say I've always assumed men were more possessive.
