What is your favorite tree, for whatever reason, be it symbolic, aesthetic, or anything else?

Mine is probably pine. It reminds me of where I grew up, as well as being really fucking tall.

Any kind. I love all trees as they are tall, strong, green and provide food.

If I'd go with your example mine would be Acacia. A one was next to our balcony where I grow up. My most memorable time belong to the day cats had sex party on that tree... 1 female and nearly 5 or 6 male cats had it going all day long.

Mine is a weeping willow. I just think it looks nice. Nothing symbolic there.

    I have a few.

Pine, because there were a lot around where I grew up as a kid.

Maple, simply because it's symbolic as for Canada I suppose, with the maple leaf and all, and I have a strong connection to Canada even though I don't live there anymore.

Or Dogwood, I loved that tree as a kid and one of my primary school teachers adored it. There was one growing in my primary school a long time ago.

Apart from Leylandii (which I don't really consider a tree) I love them all and hate to see them chopped down. Favourites are English Oaks and Willows, but I also really like to see Maples.

    Plant more trees!

Magnolia - beautiful glossy green leaves with a bronze underside, evergreen, large white fragrant blossoms. They grow very large and are symbolic of the American South.

I like many types, a few that come to mind are:

Beech - for the way they look, and their size.
    Balsam - for the scent.
Hemlock - for the look and feeling that a grove of them inspires.

Some others that I like are:

    Stewartia
    London Plane Tree
    Dawn Redwood

To put it simply, trees are beautiful.

My favorite tree has to be my Buddha's Hand tree. It smells good and has bizarre fruit.

Probably the one hanging off my mirror. Not only does it smell good, I don't have to deal with any sticky sap.

    Either that or a Willow.

    I love olive trees.

Their pointed glossy leaves, the strange shape their trunks and roots take, the beauty of the wood for making objects and furniture, and their fruit, olives, also known as a "drupe" (peaches, plums and cherries are also drupes) to me symbolize the generosity and beauty of nature.

    I have many types.

I love the big Holly trees we have around here, they look amazing in the snow, and have such interesting leaves, that stay green all year.

I also love Oaks and Maples, as well as Sycamore and Elm. I tend to like broadleaf trees more than conifers, but it varies.

Palms also fascinate me, though it's a tad cold for those here.

Oh, and pepper trees. Curious southern trees, they are.

One of the darker green pine trees. Tough to pick one.

Pines in general I prefer very much so over other trees.
