If you don't mind me asking, what is the reason? Is there a possibility of just stating the reason without having to come up with an 'excuse'?
Well it's not a good reason but there is a party and an lgbt meet up and I want to go I never get to go because of my job .:icon_sad: I know it's selfish but I want to have some fun for once . And I don't think this is a good reason and might get me in trouble if I told them this .
Uhhhh.......can your mom pay the bills if you get fired? I think I remember something about her making you pay the bills or something. I could be wrong, I am really tired. If the bills can't be paid, then go to work anyways. Plus, if you do take a day off from work, don't post stuff on the internet as the event is going on, people might get busted skipping work that way. Even then, I'm guessing don't give any leads like logos of the event so they aren't able to find out when it occurred. Okay, now I'm just being ridiculously paranoid, but still. oh crap.....I think I didn't even read what you said right.....oh well
Well, do you work shifts, or is your schedule flexible? What I would suggest, instead of coming up with an excuse, maybe try arranging your schedule in such a way that you can go the next time. Sure, it might require a little bit of planning and talking with your supervisor/manager to change a shift or arrange it in advance so that you can take a day off (if you can) but it's better than to come up with an excuse which possibly could come back to haunt you.
I tried to ask them to change it but they refuse so I'm getting another job that will have better time .
One more reason not to skip work. Given that quite a few employers will ask for references from your previous employer/supervisor, try not to do something that could get you potentially into trouble so that you can leave your job on amicable terms. You want to be able to ask for a good reference in case you need to provide it.
In my personal experience of skipping school for sometimes weeks at a time it's pretty hard to prove you're lying when you just call in sick. Just don't be obvious about it and try to save it for a day when you're completely physically exhausted and just need a break you can't get otherwise. I'd recommend doing it once every 3-5 months at the absolute most because you don't want to develop patterns or make it a habit. And be sure to use it only as a last resort because you never know when you might actually get sick and need a day or 2 off.
