    Hello guys

Will you date / be in a relationship with an Indian (Desi) guy/girl (interracial relationship)?

Do you think culture clash might be a problem?

Interested to know your views

    Sure.

Race is like hair or eye color, to me. I notice it for a moment, but then it takes a backseat, to the rest of the person.

Maybe. It depends. But if I was really feeling them, I'd do my best to make it work. However, I doubt I'd go too far with somebody, if there was a significant issue between us.

If I liked them, why not? The only relationship I've been in was with a guy of mixed Asian heritage, and I'm white. I see no reason to be against interracial relationships, and it can be pretty interesting to learn about or experience a different culture. One of my friends is Jewish and married to an Indian guy. They sometimes have cultural misunderstandings, particularly when it comes to his family who still live in India and are quite traditional, but overall they are a great couple who compliment each other well.

Arguments against interracial relationships only exist if you are traditionalistic which ends up seeming cult-ish.

Tbh though, I'd prefer an American(ized) person

Race or ethnicity isn't an issue, as long as I can understand them

I would date a girl as long as I love her/find her attractive.

It is not an issue as far as I'm concerned. I'd actually view it as a plus.

Definitely not an issue. Other things would be bigger potential pitfalls than what region of the world they are from. The only thing I can think of that is even remotely related to their culture that might be a bit of a problem is more about the smells of ingredients for food/soaps/etc that are common in that part of the world. I'm kinda particular with smells, and a few neighbors can saturate my apartment with their food/etc which I'm not really big on. I'm the same way with homes with dogs. I wouldn't really call that a deal breaker though.

But with the number of people from India, Pakistan and the surrounding region that I've worked with... I've yet found one I couldn't work with and be friendly with. One left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth, but it was more that person's finger pointing in an attempt to deflect blame (that wasn't even theirs) more than anything.

    Of course.

I don't think culture clash would be an issue at all. Most young Indians in the UK are no different to everyone else. I'd feel sorry for them though, because Indian parents are way more conservative and less accepting of homosexuality, compared to British parents (though living in the UK tends to make people see things a little differently compared to their home country).

I have no issues dating an Indian or person of Indian descent.

The only issue (which is also applicable in many other cultures/ethnicities) is the cultural differences we may have. Plus, I hope that his parents would be OK with him being gay and don't have issues with him not dating a "good Indian boy."

Why not? Race doesn't really matter to me. It's what's on the inside that counts.

I was about asking the same question. What is desi?

I would date anyone dont matter where she comes from what her ethnic whats her social status, as long as we understand and back up each other.
