Someone posted an article on FB about a girl who wanted to dress like Hans Solo for Halloween but was hesitant to dress up like a boy when she was a girl. Her dad told her of course she could dress like Hans Solo; girls can do anything boys can do. The girl suggested if she were Hans Solo, her dad should be Princess Lea. The dad responded that he would dress up as Princess Lea. He said that he couldn't very well tell her that it wasn't ok for boys to dress like girls when he just told her girls could dress like boys; if girls can do anything boys can do, then the opposite should be true; boys should be able to do anything girls can do. So the girl decided to dress up as Hans Solo and her dad as Princess Lea. I think this dad is awesome! Kuddos! Thoughts?
I love that! I think it's a funny gesture and the daughter will feel comfortable and not as forced to have to conform to one gender role when she's older. Go Dad!!
Wow, that is a really wonderful dad, it is good to see not everyone feels we should be restricted to wearing the clothing that is designated for one gender or the other.
That is absolutley amazing! I wish more dads could be like him. My dad really likes the stupid gender roles. :/
