if we are accepted like homos that is a particular form to love, we should accept gerontophilia or pedophilia (i am not agree with last) but if we are accepted why not others?
Pedophilia is an actual mental illness, and mental illnesses shouldn't be celebrated. And acting on it causes a lot of harm to children. It's not really comparable, IMO I think homosexuality is more comparable to consensual relationships that used to be seen as wrong, like interracial relationships.
Pedophilia is wrong because a minor doesn't know what they're doing if a 9 yr old was having sex with a 27 yr old either they are being manipulated or coerced. Also, a 9 yr old body is even physically ready to have sex yet, so in no way would that ever be okay or accepted.
Reading this i think that i have a joke: if a pedophile are denounced ,he can say: the child is gerontophile. OkNo. :S
Come on, OP. Consider what homosexuality is compared to what some other "alternative" practices are. "They're both discriminated against" is one thing, but overly simplistic. You could say the same about homosexuality and nazism, but I'm pretty sure you can't have a functional group of both. And gerontophilia is just fine as long as both parties are over the age of consent.
The difference is children cannot consent. While pedophilia is not necessarily wrong in the thoughts and feelings (and the feelings may be similar to homosexuality and heterosexuality), the action is wrong since children cannot consent. Which is a bit of a conundrum. So, they are not similar at all because there is no consent. Old people-loving (whatever the word is), is fine if the old person is not senile (and can't consent); if they are, it depends, really, on how senile...
Comparing a consensual relationship to one with a distinct power difference and lack of maturity....no, just no. Pedophilia and bestiality might be comparable to each other, but they are completely different than 2 people above the age of consent in homosexual relationships. We have boundaries to protect kids from predators for a reason.
We should accept any relationship or sexual practice which involves informed consent. Everything else is rape, and should be rejected as being immoral. It isn't that difficult.
I share the same point of view. Suggesting we should accept pedophilia when we accept homosexuality is completely irrational in my opinion.
