Saw this video on Buzzfeed and remembered it was November.

I suppose some men will not shave in order to raise awareness of cancers that affect men, namely testicular and prostate cancer. I will say I do get giddy around this time of year because I like seeing guys who are otherwise clean-shaven to explore the more hairy side .

Anyone doing it or have any opinions?

    ------------------

Is it a stupid trend? Perhaps, but as a gay man who likes hairy guys, it's a godsend, haha.

Personally, I just let it grow until it's at a decent 5 o'clock shadow/stubble. It makes my jawline look better . But, I do this year-round and not only for N(M)ovember.

I might if I actually had any facial hair to shave

I think it's kind of a cool idea and my boyfriend said he might do it. It's fine by me--it'd be interesting to see him with his facial hair grown out :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

If I were actually capable of growing facial hair, I totally would.

I'm going to go until I can't stand my scraggly facial hair anymore. Which knowing me, probably won't be very long.

Considering I absolutely hate facial hair on myself. No, I am not doing it.

You should take a picture before you shave and post it for all to see .

I wish. But that will have to wait until next year, thanks to the power of medical science.

Don't get discouraged if it doesn't come out right the first few years. It seems facial hair for many men seems to fill in more and more well into adulthood. I still have a few patchy areas. My dad couldn't get a full proper beard till his early 30s. Sometimes, it takes time.

I still have almost nothing there and I'm 19. It's pretty much just fuzz and I don't even shave. I'm not sure why it's taking so long...without revealing too much I can say that I have definitely gone through puberty -_-

I'm 18 and other than slight sideburns and a scraggly neckbeard I can't grow anything either. I shave every two days usually though because I hate facial hair on me >. <

Yeah, that's been the case with most of the men in my family so definitely not expecting much early on, haha. But I do have more body hair than my brother, so is that a good sign?

I grew a moustache a couple of years ago for Movember (as it's known over here). I hated it, but raised over £200.

AlamoCity is right, facial hair fills out with age. Sadly, hair begins to sprout in other places too with age. :icon_sad:

Anecdotally, yes. In my family, those men who are hairier tend to have "fuller" facial hair.

However, I think it boils down to genetics and ethnicity. I know in my family tree there's a Spaniard relative I have to kick for giving me back hair .

Consider yourself lucky. I had leg hair at 14. You may not get belly hair, nose hair, or back hair in the future. It's a good thing. I hate how hairy I am.

I wouldn't exactly call myself a man yet, and I'm not going to do it.

I'll donate some money and I'm bringing it up as an option for a fundraising event for my charity group, but my daily shave will remain so.

I dunno if it's genes or what, but I'm 30 and can barely grow facial hair. I can do a goatee or something, but it's all pretty pathetic, haha. Oh well, just means having to shave a lot less than some I guess..

True; would rather not have hair in any of those places :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: My bf started shaving when he was 13--I just consider it one less inconvenience :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Yeah, very awkward, one day at gymn class, I just looked down and was like, "holy crap, where did this come from?" I got teased, one guy was like, "You're a man" in a mocking way. Funny enough, I did not have to shave my face until 16-17.

Like PatrickUK, we call it Movember as well here. =)

I shaved myself some weeks ago, so I'll definitely let it grow. =)
