Every time i talk on the phone with like help desk or some other customer service deal, they always call me ma'am. I thought it was funny at first but now it's annoying. Does this happen to anyone else?
I just hate talking on the phone in general. When I was a little kid people misgendered me all the time (sometimes even in person come to think of it) ;-; now they just confuse me for my dad >_>
Listen, I have a accent which you could label as "Brittish". Try imagining a Brittish person speaking on the phone... It sounds quite terrible to be honest. I wish I had a deeper voice... maybe people would take me more seriously if I sounded like them...
I go into shock for a few seconds of hearing my voice, and then I cringe. I have a slight lisp and I sound very montone too. I've also been told I sound a bit girly, and add that to my Cockney accent and you get something awful...
When I was little and I would answer the phone people thought i was my mom. Now they know its me especially bc I normally only answer my phone.
