I sort of match names to faces, but I don't really struggle to remember names too much.

I just... remember. I make a deliberate, conscious note of a name. If I do that, I'm fine.

I must admit, it can be hard at times for me too, especially with people I don't have a lot of contact with or don't see very often. What I usually do however is what Hexagon mentioned:

Maybe try repeating somebody's name when they introduce themselves to you by using their name straightaway when you respond. It might help.

Same for me. =) Matching the names with the face. I do recognise a lot of people, even those who don't know me. I knew (and still know) all people from the classes of my brother, but that's not relevant at all. Names tend to stick in my memory. :icon_bigg

I still have trouble with names. So usually, I try to match up a characteristic with a person. For example, a guy in my class might have a fondness for cheese. So I'll remember him as "John, that guy who fucking loves his Tillamook" (because Tillamook is the only good cheddar)

Or if I absolutely can't remember someone's name, I'll ask them how it's spelled. Works every time. But usually, if a name's unusual enough or I've known them for long enough, I'll pick up on it eventually.

And never hurts to be honest. Usually, I'll admit I'm pretty bad with names early on and most people tend to be pretty understanding.

You'd be amazed how far you can get in a convo without ever remembering their names... Most times I'll admit I'm a failure at names n ask them their name again

"Oh. Well, you could've been a Thom. My cousin's sister's boyfriend's niece knew a guy like that."

Unless I knew someone at work, I was always bad at names.. Now we have changed our organization, it is compulsory for us to wear name badges even in the contact centre, so that has been heaven sent for me.

I just pretend like I know what it is and then ask them two years later. They always act so offended for some reason.

In all seriousness, I have a terrible time trying to remember names, I don't even remember yesterday.

I simply don't know people's names. I'm good with faces, I can attach a personality to a face, but I can't attach a name to a face or personality.

I remember faces well but am horrible with names. I usually use some source of association.

I used to work with a girl and remembered her name with the song lyric "Ohh Eee Ohh I feel just like Buddy Holly.." her name? Holly. I'd see her and instantly the song started playing in my head.

I'm really bad, but I've found that trying to repeat the name out loud, especially if you're talking to the person, you help strengthen your memory.

I either match a face to a name and/or remember a cool thing about them. Nikki is from Munich and a native German speaker. Todd does wakeboarding. Kara is a vegan chef. Etc. etc.

I'm not that bad with names, but I am lucky to almost always use "sir" or "ma'am" when dealing with people who are not close friends/acquaintances.

Oh I'm a horrible at concealing this kind of stuff, I will just straight out ask them their name as many times as necessary until it sticks (the embarrassment off having to ask past the third time usually does the trick).
