I am in complete and utter shock! My mom hinted the other day as my Dad (a staunch Republican) was mouthing off about politics my mom says "Oh Dave, you know you are going to vote Democrat." I didn't believe it until I heard it from his lips. :roflmao: Last night he says to me "So do I have to re-register to vote Democrat in the Nov. 4th election?" (!!)(!!)(!!)(!!)(!!)(!!)(!!)

I think I applied for a mail in ballot, cause the nearest voting booth is a bit away, and dun wanna waste my moms gas =P (They changed the law this year (at least in cali), mail in is anyone who chooses to apply for it, no longer just for disabled people)

There are 2 major parties, but we'll probably hear about some more candidates in the next couple weeks. I can't believe elections are only a month away. This election has been dragging on for forever!

    That's great Becky!

Both my parents and one of my grandmas are staunch Democrats, so they're voting Obama. My other grandma is a staunch Republican, and is convinced that Obama is a terrorist, so I don't even bother with her. Whenever we're around her and politics get brought up, the room gets really tense. If Obama wins, it's going to be tough to listen to some of the crap she says over the next few years. If she doesn't disown me when I come out, that is. My grandpa knows nothing about politics, and is a bit racist, but grandma got him to caucus for Obama. Still don't know how he is going to vote.

Too bad after the election is over, all people will do is bitch about who got voted in. Its all our country is about. Vote some guy into office and if he screws up once, complain about it. America runs on politics.

My question is, if we all stop voting, will they all go away?

I'm excited to vote as this is my first election. My mom was/is the black sheep of her family. She's the only democrat in a family of far right republicans. When we go to visit the rest of her family in Iowa I know to NEVER get into a political discussion with any of them.
My mom will be voting for Obama.
