So, I had always heard that when gay/bi guys wear an earring on their left ear that they are bottoms when I was growing up. Is this still true or was that a past fad? Do two earrings make you versatile then? Do you yourself wear an earring?
Wow, you're old . Just kidding . I also heard that before that time gay men would put hankies of different colors in their back pockets to signal what they were or preferred. However, I don't think those rules apply anymore. And, no, I don't wear an earring. I don't like piercings on me(n),
I don't think it means as much anymore, however, the straight guys I know who have one earring--it's always their left ear. So there does seem to be some lingering thought that the right ear means gay (the only openly gay teacher I had had an earring in his right ear). But it seems most guys I know who have earrings (gay or straight) have both ears pierced.
I have my ear pierced, but dont currently wear anything. I am going to get it pierced again like slightly above the last one, so i can put matching studs in.
People here said that if a guy wore an earring in the left ear, he was gay. In the right ear, he was straight/bisexual and in both ears.. I guess gay too (because it's in the left ear too). It's ridiculous. I don't wear earrings myself. I know straight people who wear them in both, it doesn't indicate their sexuality (unless they are all lying to me).
Yep, those were the "rules" as I remember them from growing up. Pretty much I don't remember many guys having earrings back in the 70's or early-80's Now, not so much, I think to many straight guys didn't know the rule... Or maybe it was just a secret plot by the gay mafia... LOL
I'm a genderfluid lesbian with one earring in my right ear. My mom tells me the only people who wear one earring are old gay men. I feel all the struggles.
I would like to get my ear(s) peirced, just for the hell of it, but that costs money. Also, nah, I don't think it means anything, but it'd be cool if it did. Make things a little easier for dumb ol' janitor.
It's an old fad from the 90s. Although I only ever heard that the right ear was gay and the left straight. I have lobes pierced and want to get a nose ring. Love them on other people of all genders, too.
Most of the young guys at the gym I use wear small earrings in both ears. It does not mean they are gay. Unfortunately.
