YES jansport and converse, literally everyone. also saying [insert noun] is bae all the time... and twerking like on everything. you'll be going to your locker and some kid comes up and starts twerking, like calm it down bro

The fact that so many of you have said "bae" makes me want to pull my hair out. >.<

I'm so glad I'm not in high school right now...dodged that bae bullet for sure.

 

Basically you can rule out fashion and accessories to be trending at my school - uniforms all the way! (not actually a bad thing and it is the norm in Australia. Out of, like, 500 secondary schools in my city 1 has no uniform. Tres controversial)

But things the girls in year 10 (my year) seem to be really into:
- wearing their hair in braids
- frozen fruit puree stuff from the tuckshop
- singing Taylor Swift loudly and ironically in the locker rooms
- Secret Santas (only 2 weeks left of term woo-hoo!!!)

I pride myself in not following the same trends as those creativity-challenged people, but I have noticed that the most "social" or "popular-wannabes" usually go for something like this...
- New Balance trainers
- printed leggings (girls)
- Adidas/Nike clothing (boys)
- Cropped sweater tops (any excuse to show some skin is viable)
- those mini-bags that are so ugly... I can't even describe them
- NBA teams caps (even though this is Portugal...)
- horsebrush haircuts (the ones in which they only keep a bit in the middle, you know?)

Coincidentally, the wearers of this trends happen to be the ones falling behind because the school is really demanding. So, I'm guessing that in a few years they will be non-existing. Luckily, I'll be out in less than 2 years...
