Does anyone else love Chipotle? I probably could live off it :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:. I usually get a sofritas burrito or salad.

I've actually always wondered what this is. Care to enlighten me?

Likewise! What IS this? Is it a fast food chain?

It's a Mexican fast food chain that it's custom. So you choose your base(burrito, bowl, salad,), your meat(they have tofu and veggie), and your topping (cheese, salsa, veggies, etc.) It's really good and can be sort of healthy if you get the right stuff.

I'm actually about go there, I'll post a picture of the food.

Well if you get a salad with sofritas(tofu), veggies, and salsa. No cheese or sour cream. That's not bad especially when it's considered "fast food"

Hmm. Somehow, they usually still make it unhealthy. I don't eat fast food anyway.

Yep, love Chipotle. Chipotle started in Denver--I've been to the original one. There's one near where I live now and I probably go there too much :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: One of my best friends works there, so I annoy her when I visit

I don't think they would characterize it as fast food and I think as far as "fast food" goes it's about as healthy as you are going to get--they work with a lot of organic and locally sourced fresh stuff and I appreciate their commitment to naturally raised meat. Pretty much everything you find on their menu is healthier than most of what you would find in most more traditional sit down restaurants--now that I've finally gotten my partner to switch to the brown rice I feel pretty comfortable describing it as healthy. We get Chipotle once every couple of weeks and quite enjoy it.

I've tried it but it's not my thing. I have a weakness for fast food when I drink, and chipotle is the last place I'm trying to go lol. That being said, when I'm not intoxicated (lol) and in a rush, chipotle is the place of choice.

We have a couple over here I think but looking at pictures I don't see the appeal (although I know its hugely popular in the US right?)

Isn't it just like a glorified Subway minus the nice bread?

Love Brown rice and also Quinoa. Yup, definitely healthier than Mcdonalds or some burgerplace. Though, I think the rule is that if you get you food in under 5 minutes it's considered fast food. Or that's what I heard from a few friends

It's basically the Mexican equivalent of Subway, yes. However, every now and then you'll find an inept employee who can't fold a burrito very well -_-

Wow, if you think Subway has "nice bread" my guess is Chipotle would blow your mind. I've never understand how Subway manages to bake admittedly fresh bread in several varieties none of which taste like anything.

Ironically, for many years McDonald's was the majority shareholder of Chipotle (divested in 2006).

Kinda like how Burt's Bees is owned by The Clorox Company .

And I believe Coca Cola now own Innocent Smoothies - a brand which has always promoted itself firmly as a health product.

My only reference to Chipotle is from South Park. Is it true that it gives you raging bloody diarrhea?

Yes, a company in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, owns over 90% of innocent drinks.

I usually stay away from anything fast food. Chipotle is the one exception. Give me a sofritas burrito with guacamole, and I will be happy for the rest of the day.
