Is anyone else the only gay person in their family?

as far as I know I'm the only GSM person in my family, everyone else is straight and cis

 

Me - unless there's something someone hasn't told me, but that's unlikely. I do have one cousin I have some suspicions about but it's hard to tell.

I am terrified to tell my extended family though since they're all strict conservative homophobic Catholics and none of them (as far as I know) are gay...

 

Same as nekoko but, there are still children in my family so I'm not sure. You never know who could be hiding it.

In my immediate family, I'm the only one. There are some gay people in my extended family but they live nowhere near me. I admit, I do have some suspicions about my uncle but I would never bring up that with him.

 

MEEE, but who knows. I have a cousin that some people (me included) have a suspicion of. Plus, I have a few more cousins who are set ill young, and have not yet hit sexual maturity. So, I guess we'll see if I'm the only one...

 

Only one that I know of, yep. None of my other relatives appear to be LGBT.

 

On my mother's side, yes, and they've all been tremendously accepting.

On my father's side, there are 5 children. 2 are gay, one is bisexual. The bisexual one was forced into the closet, I've been disowned for coming forward about abuse, and the third gay one... well whenever he isn't in a relationship, it's all, "Oh, he's not into THAT any more".

Definitely highlights that an issue doesn't need to personally affect you to care about it...

 

I am the gay cousin.

 

I have one cousin who told me a long time ago that she's a lesbian, but over time that became bisexual and she just married a man a few weeks ago. She has a history of being extremely over-dramatic and trying to get attention so I'm not 100% sure that she was being honest but that's a weird thing to lie about. Other than that, there's nobody I even remotely suspect.

 

I'm the only Bisexual, gay, lesbian, anything in my family (that I know of).

 

So far yes - it was no big deal to come out - I was already pretty much on my own in college and in my family the children are all raised to do whatever they please without much regard for whether or not anyone else in the family likes it (or maybe we just end up that way )

 

My cousin is lesbian and got engaged last thanksgiving. But, I'm adopted so I don't know if anyone in my biological family is or not.

Yeah, I'm the only one. Apparently there's one gay person in my distant family but I don't actually know many people in my family outside of my immediate family so it doesn't really matter.

 

My family is exactly the opposite. My parents each have like 5 siblings and pretty much every one of them has an LGBT kid. It's freakin hysterical at holiday parties. Which reminds me, can't wait for Thanksgiving!! :eusa_danc

 

As far as I know, I only have one gay uncle. One of my dad's brothers. There are still a lot of kids in my family though. One of my 18 cousins is bound to be LGBT.
