Do you guys take the subway/metro where you live? There's no subway system in my region (I live in suburbia) and I only use it when I go to downtown Los Angeles since it's very efficient.
I take one occasionally to go into washington dc it is a 20 minute drive from my house however parking in city is few and far between.
Everyday, to go anywhere. All because I'm still too lazy to go get my driver's license; the process takes 45 days and I need instant gratification to get anything done. Metro it is.
There is no subway system in my region. I believe Austin has a metro system but I've never used it whenever I visit a few times a year. If I recall correctly, the only time I've ridden anything close to a metro has been when we went to DisneyWorld and rode the monorail .
I use the subway system of my city everyday. It's decent, except at rush hour because it's too crowded (people have to push each other the get into the train). Lol I wish it only took 45 days in my country. Getting your license here takes around 4 months.
I LOVE the metro. It's so much better than crowded smelly buses. Actually my favourite form of public transport is autorickshaws but they don't travel far like the metro does. But they're such fun to go in But even though the metro can be crowded too, I really like it.
There's no underground system in the city I live in, but there's a network of local trains. I use these to get to college, and pretty much everywhere.
We don't have rail in Cupertino. I take the bus, and like it just fine. There is a surface street light rail system in the county, but it's not that good a system (slow as molasses), and the bus is faster to anywhere I want to go.
I've used subway/trains in Toronto, Tokyo, and Sendai. I take the train basically everywhere in Japan, and I used to take the GO train to Toronto before jumping on the subway. I love taking trains, I wish Canada had more of them. The Tokyo train system is just as awesome and crowded as rumoured.

I used to take it a lot, now I've changed to taking the bus because I can usually find a seat on the bus, and not on the train (rush hour complications...) The line I take for the train has quite nice scenery though; it's above ground and we travel through/pass some mountain ranges.
Depends on the day, if it's rush hour or not... Can get really crowded at times, plus you've got really nothing worth to look at. Berlin is huge for an european city, which means that if you need to go fast somewhere you really have no other option.
We in Montreal have had one since 1966, it's efficient, relatively safe and quick...when it doesn't break down...
I've lived within half an hour of Boston for most of my life but somehow I've managed to take the T only once. I take the metro in Montreal all the time though, very convenient.
