I was wondering if and how are the two different ? Also are they safe or could you lose your belongings ?
If someone is feeling unsafe, I would call a center and find out information. Or go to a Catholic church and ask someone there what you can do and where you can go. Catholic churches are usually good about helping out with those things. At least in my neck of the woods, they seem to be. I don't know what the difference is between a domestic violence center and women's center is. Maybe more than just women are at the domestic violence center? I would think a women's shelter would be safer than staying in an abusive environment.
DVC is a safe place for people being subject to violence, usually with a confidential kept adress and limited space. A womens shelter is a shelter for women. If in doubt about belongings, its should be possible to ask the management of the places, possibly they provide lockers etc. Did you not once plan to go to a relative ?
