I fancy a cup of tea or coffee. I don't really mind which, but you (EC folk) are making it. Wait! Before you go and boil the water, I want to know how you are going to make it. Are you going to add the milk and sugar before or after pouring? If you're not going to do it right I'll have to get off my ass and make it myself.

I'm a heretic and won't have any milk in my coffee at all. Sugar after pouring.

    This poll is unanswerable.

What kind of barbaric swine sweetens their tea and coffee?

Tea and coffee are both vulgar without sugar - well, actually, coffee is vulgar even with sugar, which is why I don't drink it. I have about 20 sugars in my tea before I will even contemplate drinking it.

But anyway, I'll put in the tea and sugar first, then water, milk last.

I'd love to make you a cup of either, but unfortunately my attempt at sending a steaming cup of coffee via PM failed, and created a huge mess all over the computer.

If I were making if for someone else, I would put the milk and sugar in after pouring. However, I drink only herb teas, and put neither in. Even if it did drink tea, it would be black and unsweetened.

I don't like coffee. But I know how to make it, I've made it a couple of times for my parents and they don't put sugar in it and they put the milk after pouring.

But if I had to make it for you I'd just ask! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

What kind of monster sweetens tea!? It's barbaric. I will, however, on occassion, add some soy milk to certain flavoured black or chai teas (always after pouring the water, and of course steeping at the correct temperature).

I certainly can make you either one...I'll even drink it for you!

Oh, wait, that means I won't be putting in *any* sugar! Now please be more specific. Because if you are looking for an espresso, then I would put the cream in the cup and pour the coffee over; but if you wanted regular coffee, I'd add the cream after.

And if the tea you fancy is a green tea, I would add nothing whatsoever. But if it's a nice English Breakfast tea (or Irish or Scottish...or Assam, or most other black teas), then I'll also need to know something about how the water is boiled. If I'm using a kettle and a tea bag, then *usually* the water goes over the tea bag, and I add a drop of cream (and often a packet of artificial sweetener) afterwards. But if I'm using a tea bell and actually brewing the tea on the stovetop, then the sweetener goes in and heats with the tea. Sometimes the cream does as well...particularly if it's Nepali milk tea...but if that doesn't happen, then the cream will go in the cup and I'll pour the sweetened tea over.

Is there anything else you'd like to know about the convoluted workings of my mind and/or life?

I answered Milk and sugar after pouring, but I would never destroy my precious tea with sugar.

Bring a few cups of cold water to a boil. Turn off heat. ]Add a couple of cups of sugar to the pot and let them steep for a few minutes (usually four). Remove bags. Add about a cup or two of refined white sugar. Stir until dissolved. Add several cups of cold water and stir. Transfer to pitcher. Slice a washed lemon into slices and put in the pitcher. Refrigerate to chill. Serve in a tall glass filled with ice once the tea has cooled.

Proportions depend on who sweet, what kind of tea bags you're using and how much tea you want to make.

Im surprised with how many people dont like sugar in tea haha, I hate it without. I always add milk first and sugar last and I seem to be the only person I know that does this.

Personally, I use honey instead of sugar in my tea. I always pour the tea first, then I add some milk and put the honey in while I stir.

I drink either green tea or Earl Grey, but I like trying new things too.

Oh no I misread the options and voted wrong!

Sugar after pouring for tea! Otherwise some of that sugar must inevitably get absorbed by the teabag and removed from the cuppa so you aren't getting 100% of the teaspoon (yes I think like this).

Definitely not milk in first - you can't get as strong a brew as you don't have the heat (unless we are talking about potted tea here?).

For coffee, meh whenever. Although if you put milk in first the granules don't dissolve properly.
