I need some help! So I go to a Catholic high school, and I was talking to the school chaplain (for those of you who don't know what a chaplain is, a chaplain is basically the spiritual representative of an institution. They organize religious events and whatnot), and I was thrilled to find out that she is a big supporter of LGBT+ rights. Obviously, I was (pleasantly) surprised to find out that someone as religious as her could be so supportive and open-minded. She told me that she finds the views of the church regarding homosexuality upsetting and outdated. Anyway, she runs a club called Breaking Barriers, which is basically about breaking social barriers against people who might be deemed "different" because of their race, ethnicity, religious views, illnesses, disabilities, etc. She told me that they had plans to address LGBT+ issues and homo/transphobia. So, to make a long story short, I'm now in charge of making posters that promote equality and address LGBT+ issues. My question is, what should I write on them? Some help would be appreciated. So far, I have (I got most of these off the internet): "Some people were born gay. Were you born hateful?" "Gay is okay" "Being gay is not a choice, but being is bigot is" I realise these are pretty limited to a certain end of the LGBT+ spectrum, I so really need more suggestions! :help:
Also from the internet: "In the same way that you don't have to be an animal to support animal rights, you don't have to be LGBT to support LGBT rights." "You don't have to be LGBT to believe in equal rights." "You don't have to be LGBT to be a supporter - you just have to be human." (Daniel Radcliff, I think?) "If two people are happy together, then leave them alone." "Being LGBT isn't a choice... You know what is? When you wake up every morning and decide that two people being in love affects you negatively." "It's all fun and gay 'til someone loses their rights." "Love knows no gender, race or color." "I chose to be gay the same day you chose to be straight." "Be careful who you hate - It might just be someone you love." "Support you sisters, not just cis-ters."
