I had a date tonight...

    And I gave him a single red rose when we met, then we went to a fancy restaurant.

    I was dressed in a dress shirt, pin striped pants and a gleeming white belt. While I was holding the rose on the train into the city to meet my date, I over heard quite a number of comments including "aww omg that's SO cute - he's taking his date a rose"

    *sigh*

    It was a nice night. Just thought I would share that with you since I'm sure you were all dying to know :icon_wink

    I bet some of the comments on the train would have been a bit different if they knew the gender of your date! :slight_smile:

    That's exactly what i was thinking Paul!

    Although, do straight men wear "gleeming white belts" in the UK? Most on the train may have known already!

    I think the date went really well...but it's hard to tell. He sent me a "I had a fun time - have a safe trip home. x" message.

    I'm having a small get together at my place next weekend (since my parents are going away), so he's coming to meet my friends (including my sister). We spoke on the phone every day for a week before we actually met, so I was worried we had talked about everything imaginable and our date would be kinda silent. But conversation flowed just like our phone conversations.

    Haha - yeah true. Well lots of people saw us walking down the river together, with him holding the rose. We got a few "aww cute" comments then.

    And at the restaurant the waitress was so nice. She came up and saw the rose and went on about how sweet it was. haha.

    Melbourne's so nice at night - especially along the river.
    That's good that your date went well.. I have the same phobia that if I talk to someone for ages before I meet them, then I won't have anything to talk about (not necessarily a date) it really sucks when that does happen though! haha
